First let me start by saying I have been to this location at least a dozen times. Waits have been long, our table service slower than others around us,.... but the filet mignon‘s are worth the wait. My last visit there was for my belated birthday. I was so looking forward to a medium rare Filet Mignon. I have never had a different meal there. This is usually so spectacular why change. We always get two of the same meals plus bruschetta which is also outstanding. The restaurant serves Garlic rolls that are usually yummy and fragrant. Upon our last visit we were told the wait was 45 minutes. It ended up much longer than that; fortunately not as ling as the folks we waited next to as their 1/2 hour was 1 1/2 hours. Still we were fine waiting. We were seated. Garlic rolls were brought. They now are smaller and looked purchased. We ask the waitress if they had changed them and were just brought another basket. These were a little better but not the quality we were used to. Everyone has an off night. Our orders were taken. The table behind us ordered moments before us. They ordered, received, ate, and paid for their meals (2 pizzas, 3 Stromboli’s) and left before our filets were brought out. One look at the plates and we knew they sat for some time. The liquid was drying and the steaks were dried looking as well as they sunk in. We tried them.... well done. Set them aside to wait for our waitress. The girl bussing the table behind us went and got her. She took them away to replace and apologized. We waited again roughly 40 mins for the next steaks to come out. They were perfect at least the one bite I had was. By the we received them almost 2 hours had gone by. I was no longer hungry and extremely disappointed. About two weeks later I decided to let From the Boot know about our experience. The meal wasn’t inexpensive. (Over $100.) I was just so disappointed. I didn’t feel like I ever wanted to return again. I/we had recommended this restaurant to everyone we knew. The manager (I believe) did reply back. He explained the wait... which I was alright with. The disappointment in the meal and the total dissatisfaction of the experience was addressed. He offered a gift card to make up for the debacle and to show good faith so we would return. At this point, I was feeling better. Today in the Mail I received the gift card, I feel so very insulted as it was for $35. That covers one meal.... without the tip. The visit was 3 hours long. Lousy rolls, lousy first steaks and a long wait for the next. Honestly I now feel even worse about the restaurant and experience. I cannot recommend them to anyone. Medium Rare does not take an hour then 40 mins. Then this insult. Think long and hard...
Read moreWe had an awful experience at From the Boot, which is unfortunate because we would consider ourselves as regular customers there in the past. However, we will never return. We ordered pizzas to be prepared for a specific time, the lady on the phone said she could accept the request but didn't seem to actually care. We had a family member stop by to pick up the pizzas and they arrived 30 minutes earlier than the pizzas were supposed to be ready - needless to say the pizzas we're ready. When I called to complain, the lady and the manager both said the pizza's were fine - despite being for a birthday party nearly an hour later. They then questioned why we had arrived early - the real question is why were the pizzas ready. In fairness, the manager offered to bake 8 new pizzas, but at that point they would be too late for the kid's birthday party. The conversation went south from there, but the manager was unbelievably rude and used profanity to express his disagreement, as did I. He encouraged me to shop elsewhere - which given the fact that there are 12 other pizza places within 3 miles of From the Boot - will not be a problem. Listen the food is good, but the service is subpar and the respect for customers is abysmal. Your money is better...
Read moreAwful. All of it so people rave about the garlic knots. They are six packs of dinner rolls pre-bought and slathered with fake butter and garlic mush. A little bit of Parmesan. No real Italian bread in sight! We dearly hoped that that was just going to be the worst part of the dinner, but my shrimp scampi, and my partners rigatoni with steak were both absolutely disgusting. My shrimp scampi had some kind of greasy oil and fake lemon flavoring. Just gross. My friends, rigatoni and steak had a strange watery sauce. That was supposed to be a creamy marsala but instead was clearly dishwasher liquid. Just gross. Nothing decent about it. nothing edible about it. Nothing Italian about it. I love Italian food. I like it from great restaurants and I like it from neighborhood restaurants. I’ll take pasta with Ragu sauce. It doesn’t matter. The only inedible Italian food I’ve ever tried to eat was here at this restaurant. All around me people who are repeat customers were happily digging into their food. I don’t really know why, but we were only there because another place happened to be closed that evening. I certainly will...
