The Alibi Tavern — Restaurant in Whitman

Visited for lunch this afternoon and glad we did. We all were hungry after a round of golf and unsure of the area but came across the Alibi… while the name caught our eye, so didn’t the menu. Walking in we were pleasantly greeted and sat immediately. She offered us specials on top of the generous menu they provide daily. We started with drinks and apps followed by entrees and everything came in a timely manner. The turkey was fresh baked turkey (like I would make on thanksgiving), onion rings fresh and cooked to perfection, and the pork tenderloin tips were tender and the best I’ve ever had. Alanna was our server- she was attentive, kind, and answered all of our questions. The prices are affordable (especially being fresh) and generously portioned. Our group gets together once a week for golf but we have all agreed to end the day at the Alibi moving forward. Thank you for a great end to our day, we will see...

First time here, I was very disappointed with the food. Ordered the philly cheesesteak and it came with movie theater style nacho cheese on it w/ room temp "crinkle cut" french fries. The bar tender was nice but extremely busy as he appeared to be assisting the dining room due to short staffing. When he asked about my meal, I politely shared my honest opinion and he took it off my bill, which I thought was very courteous. My friend ordered a chicken caprese sandwich and could not finish it either, the chicken was dry and there was no consistency with the flavor. Most of our meals were not consumed and I am not happy about that, as I am a foodie and chef by trade who loves to support local small businesses. I can only hope the management accepts this review as a genuine critique and addresses the issue with the food...

Stopped by for lunch to check out Alibi Tavern. It's a great neighborhood pub. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. The menu selection is what you would expect with daily specials. What I didn't expect was to get REAL thick carved turkey when I ordered the turkey avocado panini! I loved the crispy crinkle fries that come with the sandwiches. My fellow diner had a stuffed quohoag off the special menu and the smash burger - both were really good. Only a handful of basic beers on tap. The prices were very reasonable for the meal.
