Roma Bakery Pastry Shop — Restaurant in Whitpain Township

Ordered a special cake for a gender reveal baby shower. It was supposed to be pink or blue inside but it wasn't. When asked why it was wrong they said they didnt understand the instructions. If you dont understand instructions, you should call the person who ordered the cake and ask them. They didnt even give a discount on the cake and they ruined my wifes baby shower. This place charges a lot of money for their baked goods and has no idea how to do business. Order cake from your local grocery store its just as good and way cheaper. This place has no clue how to do business.

To further prove my point, look at the business owner's reply below. I will make it even simpler and copy and paste his reply to this review. They messed up a cake, I wrote an honest review, and rather than apologize the owner responds with:

"1/26/2016 *Noting better to do! U have a real job? I suggest u to find one u really need to fill up your time .notting more to say good luck & congrats for your stupidity ................"

This is Roma Bakery's owner reply to my review. This place has ZERO clue how to do business and this response proves with 100% certainty that I am correct.

Avoid this place at all costs, expensive over priced baked goods and rude unprofessional ownership.

He also sent me two separate private messages telling me to do a certain 4 letter word and calling me a loser.

No doubt about it, the pastries here are just wonderful. BUT, last year for my wedding, I ordered about 3 dozen mixed pastries and told them it was for my wedding. I was expecting a beautifully wrapped something but instead, the pastries were scattered about on a silver metal tray that had a paper doilie on it that hardly covered the tray. Nothing fancy or special, just those 3 dozen pastries just sitting there. I was stunned into submission. The worst part was that they charged over $200 bucks! It was crowded in there as it usually is, because the pastries are so good, so I didn't say anything, but I know other people were looking, like, "What, 200 dollars for that"??? And on top of it, 0 effort to make it nice. I was sick. My sister was standing there saying, you're kidding me right? Utter humiliation. I just paid for it and left, I didn't want my wedding day to be ruined. They seemed like such nice people. I can't...

Don't let the one star reviews steer you away. Some people expect things to always be perfect and go above and beyond their high expectations 100 percent of the time. Roma is an awesome bakery that makes awesome sweets. If you request something unique, make sure you're there in person to clearly communicate that and be prepared with a backup cake idea if you initially request something they don't specialize in (which has happened to me). The store is always clean and well cared for. I personally never experienced anything less than pleasant and friendly service in all the times I've been there. Right now I'm only thinking about those delicious Italian ricciarelli cookies (I once again pronounced it wrong, but I know the owner will correct me). I could eat those everyday. It's a little...
