At a diner, the only thing I should have to review is the food. And the burger was good until i found a little gray hair halfway through eating it. I pull up to the diner and step out my car to take a picture of the sky and the diner. An old worker standing outside yells at me saying I need to delete the photo. I ask why and he says it’s because he’s in the background of it. I don’t take kindly to getting yelled at but i say “okay i’ll delete it.” I then start walking back to my car. He screams “NO. I need to see you delete it.” Keep in mind i’m a teenage girl and being yelled at by a strange old man is frightening at the least. I’m also mad because I shouldn’t be yelled at in the first place. But I calmly pull up the photo, walk over to him and show him that he is indeed NOT IN THE PHOTO. He stands there for probably 30 seconds not saying anything before finally saying “okay.” So now i’m finally ‘allowed’ to go back to my car. I’ve been to this diner times before, since i grew up in the city. I’m visiting this weekend from college and I suggested me and my grandparents should grab a Scottie Burger for dinner. Never. Again.

Not to mention, whoever the owner is for the google reviews, replies to bad reviews hatefully. Take a look through the 1 star reviews and see...

I'm going to give a 2 star review, however the food is a negative star review.

First point, yes I read the reviews and the replies from the owner. I anticipated a long wait, so I have no complaint on the time frame.

Second point, no the employees are certainly not friendly, much less overly so, however that also is not a complaint. I'd prefer they didn't stand and chat at each vehicle upon delivery of food, because that only delays every other order further. So, that also is not an issue for me.

Finally, however, is the quality of food. As a classically trained private chef, I am probably more critical of food than the average consumer. There is no excuse for the food we received. We ordered the chicken fried steak sandwich basket. It says "mayo", that was definitely NOT mayonnaise on the sandwich. It was Miracle Whip or a version of. The steak was about 1/8-1/4" thick and fried to a burnt crisp (see photos). The fries were horrible, no salt at all when they come from the fryer, which is when they should be seasoned. Served on toast.

This was a $10.00...

Being born and raised in Wichita Falls, this place is filled with history and good times. You simply can’t get food like this anywhere else. My all time favorite are the steak fingers with tons of gravy and fries and my dad always loved the Big Scotty. I am so thankful for the Scott family and particularly Mrs. Scott who was running the establishment back in the 2000s on. She ran a tight ship and I was greatly appreciative of that as you could always count on great service and consistency. This place was never fast which to me is simply by design as something good cooked from scratch isn’t going to be. That was a fact I accepted long ago and found calling in my order to be most convenient. Thank you and Bless you Mrs. Scott and your family for this wonderful place and all of its amazing history. I wish you could post more about it for...

Scott’s Drive-In seriously took me back — in the best way. I’m a small-town Texas girl from Lampasas, and this place gave me all the nostalgic vibes of our local joint, Storm’s. From the crinkle-cut fries and juicy burger to the chili cheese fries that hit just right, everything was fresh and delicious. The inside feels like a time capsule — classic red booths, checkered floors, old photos and Route 66 memorabilia lining the walls. And the cherry on top? They played 80s rock the whole time we were there — it just fit. The guy at the counter was so sweet and welcoming, and the prices were super reasonable. Honestly, this place deserves way more business than it looked like it was getting. If you’re passing through or live nearby, stop in. Good food, great service, and that cozy, old-school energy that’s getting harder to find.

I ordered a large bbq sandwich and tots for my lunch. It took me 45 minutes to get my lunch...I almost pulled away from the drive in when the guy finally came out with my food... The guy inside working taking orders was yelling at customers that he couldn't hear them. I was outside in my car... I also ordered before multiple people who ordered a lot more food than I did and they came after I ordered my food but somehow got there food before mine. I watched because I was paying attention just trying to find out why my small order was taking so long when I was just one guy and people were getting orders for their families... They had pulled up after and made their order while I was waiting for my food so it wasn't like they called it in...
