Having had some high expectations for a restaurant at this price point we came away thoroughly disappointed at the drinks, service and food. Feeling as if one had been pulled on us for having had higher expectations than were warranted of the pretentiously styled building. I would probably recommend avoiding this place on a slow day, skipping any buffet entirely, avoid any mixed drinks with unlisted alcohol, and not to expect much from the service. This place felt more like a mediocre steakhouse that belonged stuffed inside a Hilton, catering to clientele more interested in a place to host their large business meetings rather than an intimate dining experience with impeccable service.

We arrived here Easter Sunday evening, being the parking lot was empty except employees parked off to the sides, we were hesitant to go in. Our waiter comes by and shows us the Easter drink specials, we place our drink orders, informing us that he will bring us our drinks and we are welcome to the buffet. At which point it dawns on us that this is probably why the restaurant is completely empty. The waiter informs us they offer the buffet on particular days when it’s very busy. So we ask for a buffet menu and take a moment to decide if it’s worth staying. Being as we’ve just placed our drink order and there are a few things on the menu which do look appetizing the $39 could be worth it being this is an upscale restaurant, we could be getting our money’s worth, maybe like a nice Vegas buffet so why not. So we go look and see what is all available, some limping salad, popovers, the dessert trays sit on the bar, about 10 heated covered trays many of which lack any signage. So one would have to open every single tray and memorize which items were where or reopen many of the same trays upon returning. Many of the menu options like the chicken, fish and ribs, are dry, scraps remained for what seemed to have been sitting there for hours. We couldn’t find the appetizing menu options, we figure we would just have to ask the waiter and get it on the return trip. The waiter returns and we ask where the salmon and asparagus are, he informs us that those items are gone and apologizes. Hmm, Yeah that would have been nice to know being those items are what convinced us to stay. Some of the herb roasted chicken was almost quite literally jerky dry, and the crusted sole fish not too far off. The pasta with chicken and mushrooms, seemed to be entirely missing both chicken and mushrooms, the pasta was glazed over with the oily residue of an evaporated cream sauce. Even if the buffet food were at its prime, I don’t think it would have been anything special then, which leads me to doubt that even the regular menu would be worth trying. Finally the white sangria is at the table full of ice and a thin slice of orange, I hope at the very least the sangria will be good. However within the first sip I find the sangria is really bitter as though the rind of the grapefruit was used, the liquor taste like bottom shelf wine, that is slightly dry but has a very bitter cheap alcohol taste, which is almost headache inducing all on its own, with absolutely no sweetness. Yes, it’s understood the drink was on special, but I can’t understand why even bother offering such a drink that honestly taste disgusting at an establishment like this. At the end of the meal I am nursing a headache confused as to why they either didn’t close early if food was not refreshed after several hours or return to the regular menu when things clearly got slow. I fail to mention any of what could be considered good things (salad, dessert) because they are not redeeming of anything whatsoever. Hopefully this review will spare some their money, time and...

Update: Wow! After our first experience, 6S wasted no time reaching out to us and addressing what our experience was. I'm so used to companies reading reviews and ignoring or dismissing a customer's unpleasant experience. But not 6S!

After that night, the manager called me the next morning! Seth was so sincere and made sure to apologize and acknowledge us. What I loved most was how he expressed his desire for my family to become lifelong friends of the 6S family, and how he acknowledged that what we experienced was not right. So, he invited me and my family back to show us what the true 6S experience is - and I have to tell you, it was such a delight and wonderful evening! Seth and the staff completely took care of us! The food and wine by the way were AMAZING, and were accompanied by live music! We laughed, talked, explored more options on the menu, and just had an amazing time - as a family! I say that, because that's what we felt like upon entering and leaving for our second time there. We will never forget this experience and are most definitely coming back with our friends and other family members. So, I'm changing my one star to 5 - not because they invited us back, but because they were diligent in nurturing a lifelong friendship with our family!

4/20/21 Sigh....where do I begin? I really wanted to like this place, ESPECIALLY after hearing about it and reading the reviews.

We came here for a nice family dinner, to celebrate my brother's birthday. The décor and ambience are definitely nice. However, the service we received is something I'll never forget. It's been a long time since I've felt uncomfortable at a restaurant because of the color of my skin. We actually made reservations ahead of time, we were all dressed up, arrived on time on a very quiet night, and yet somehow when we walked in, the manager (I believe his name is Seth) who was sitting at the front with the hostess, looked at us like we were lost...as if he was surprised we even walked in. It was actually my mom and I who walked in first, while my dad and brother were on their way from the car. So as the manager was too busy staring at us like he had just seen two ghosts, the very nice hostess proceeded to get our info and walk us to our table. Then when my dad walked in, he asked him "Can I help you with something?" as if my dad had walked into the wrong place or was lost. I mean, it's a restaurant - why not greet him and ask him does he need a table for 2? Or why not assume he was with the people who had just walked in? Nonetheless, my dad told him that he was with the two ladies who had just walked in. Then as he walks him to where we were seated, he yells, "oh the trouble makers!" and walks off. At this point, we all look at each other like - huh? was he joking? Did he really just say that? The only black family in the restaurant, and that's how he greets us when he finally decided to address us all? Thankfully, the hosts and servers didn't treat us like that. However, on a very slow night, it took an hour and half to get our food, almost everything we wanted was mysteriously "out of stock," and the manager made it a point to greet and check on the service/food of the table next to us, but walked right past our booth several times without smiling or saying a word. It was strange! Even if the food was somewhat good, the service just about killed the...

My girlfriend and I went to 6S for our anniversary and was not disappointed! I knew that I was going to be coming out of pocket but it was not quite as expensive as I thought.

It was a weekday evening at the end of November (I'm always late writing reviews) when we had eaten at 6S. We walked in and the place was pretty bare with only a couple of tables. The atmosphere was definitely high class and the hostess was super nice and smiling although I'm sure she was bored out of her mind.

When we got to our tables we were greeted by I swear the most comfortable restaurant chairs we have ever sat in. Already impressed by the general decor, atmosphere, and especially the chairs we were greeted by a very nice and knowledgeable server. I'm not sure about everyone else but I am not quite used to going out to such "fancy" dining and sometimes I tend to feel uncomfortable. One thing that drives me bonkers is when I am greeted by a server that that looks at me with a disdain as if i do not have the right to be there, this however was the complete opposite of that experience. Our server was a kind, helpful, and knowledgeable person. He helped answer each one of our 50 questions about the menu and provided us a little lesson on the quality and cut of steaks.

We started out with an exploratory dish, the steak tartar. This was not my choice but I'd be damned if I didn't eat the majority of it. I was not expecting the season and oil to make such a fantastic dish that would make me completely forget that I was eating raw beef lol. Accompanied with hand cut chips this was the perfect start to an amazing meal.

For our main course we both decided on the KC strip. This was without exaggeration, THE BEST STEAK I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE! Their aging process mixed with the seasoning and what ever other black magic was used made the steak so flavorful and moist. Both had our steaks at medium rare as well as had Mac and cheese and onion rings for our side dishes. The only ok part of the whole meal in my honest opinion was the side dishes, these were not as amaze balls as the rest of the meal.

We finished up this impressive night with some chocolate desserts which the name is escaping me.

The only part I can probably pick at is that once our server disappeared it was quite a while before we seen him again, but the rest of the staff picked up what little slack there was. The manager visited the table several times and extremely friendly with us.

All in all this is definitely a must go if you...

Guys this is one of my favorite restaurants and we delayed checking them out for so long. First of all i like the double entendre with the name of the restaurant. The food was so good. Drinks were 🔥🔥 as well but we got lost in the food and took no pictures. Nonetheless you guys should check them out if you go to wichita. @Mo I want to go back 😭 this place is great for a date night or celebration. #6ssteakhouse #foodtiktok #wichitakansas

So disappointed in my first 6S experience. After traveling several days and getting home late on a Sunday, we decided to try UberEats and 6S for the first time rather than try to figure out dinner at home. We ordered the filet with mushrooms and a kale salad and the chilean seabass with potatoes au gratin. The potatoes au gratin were Awful. No flavoring, and soaked/sopping in oil and condensation from the plastic container. Basically flaccid potato chips. The seabass was not properly cooked! Raw throughout. We had to fire up the castiron to sear and then finish cooking in the oven. The mushrooms had no flavor, just regular mushrooms sauteed in oil. The only positive comments we can share are the steak was properly cooked and the kale salad was good. But even these items weren't that great... the steak was tough and difficult to chew and the salad was too heavy on the sweet stuff (high candied walnuts and cranberries to greens ratio.) We did not receive a receipt in the bag, nor napkins or utensils. All this for $115 (all 6S - UberEats provided free delivery) plus tip. Perhaps dining-in is the only way to go with 6S. But c'mon, we're almost two years into the Covid pandemic. Other restaurants have figured out how to properly package carryout and provide good food despite the additional travel time, and if they havent - they shouldn't offer carryout service at all.

Omg, I don't really know how I didn't visit this place before today, this restaurant is amazing, the courtesy and professionalism of the staff members is outstanding, we are very happy with the atmosphere, and very satisfying with all the personal from the hostess to the management. The manager Julio, came and did his table touches and make sure everything was to our satisfaction, not only once but multiple times, and that's very important to me, because it shows that the manager take pride in his restaurant. Our server Kaden what was the right on point, our food was exquisite, very tasty, perfectly prepared and really enjoyable, beverages were never empty and didn't have to order them, Definitely we will be returning there for more pleasant evenings like tonight. To 6s Steakhouse staff members; Thank you for helping my husband making this year wedding anniversary unforgettable, you guys are amazing DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY, TO ALL OF YOU THAT ARE READING THIS POST. I ASSURE YOU THAT YOU WON'T REGRET IT. PS. Ask for Kaden Best Server ever
