Beware of Chiggers! This is a pleasant little forest with many signs indicating a variety of indigenous and non-indigenous trees and shrubs. It is adjacent to a large park and you can bike or walk on miles of trails leaving the arboretum. The problem is that pests are plentiful and in summer I can't seem to avoid numerous chigger bites all over my ankles and legs, even when I stay on the trails. Mosquitoes are common also. The parking lot hosts a farmers market on Saturday...
