We visited Chester's a week ago before heading out of Wichita. We requested outside seating and we were able to get a table without a reservation as it was a week night. We ordered the Philly Cheesesteak Rolls and the Wood-oven Roasted Feta for starters. They were both average in taste. It was quite disappointing to see a few strands of hair in the pickled mushrooms in the Feta starter. The restaurant did take this off the bill, however it did put a damper on the overall experience. Both the Ribeye and the New York Strip were cooked to the correct temperature. And the steaks were well seasoned and we enjoyed the sauces which accompanied the steaks. We were not too impressed with both the starches; Mac n' Cheese and the Red Bliss Mash. We felt they both lacked in flavor. Lemon Asparagus and the Roasted Corn & Wild Mushrooms were tastier with corn and mushrooms being our favorite. We opted out of dessert as we were full. The server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. But it stopped there as we weren't impressed with his attentiveness. We actually had to get the server taking care of the table next to us to ask our server to come to our table as he was busy inside taking care of closing duties. The service was quite disappointing for an establishment such as Chester's as we had to pour the wine ourselves and ask for water refills. The manager approached our table and apologized for the hair being in one of the dishes and the lack of attention exhibited by the server. We truly enjoyed the conversation with the Manager and his acknowledgement of the areas that needed some improvements. We know they have some lovely cocktails but we stuck to wine on this particular evening. The ambience of the place is beautiful. Great location but surely needs to improve the level of service and attentiveness from the staff.

We are from Vegas and used to dining at all the top spots so going to Chester's Chophouse seemed to be right up our alley. As soon as we were seated our server rushed up and said we couldn't sit there as it was reserved in a few hours for someone else, the hostess had turned around and waited to see what our server was saying, she was just as surprised as is and moved us. The menu was a bit lackluster but there were some interesting options, and the specials. The Chilled Shrimp Cocktail was our starter and at $MP of $6 per shrimp they should have been cleaned out better, two shrimp were not even properly prepared. They could improve their Deveining process. The Old School Garlic Salad was basic but the creamy garlic dressing is everything you could hope for. Seriously this is a top 3 salad for me. The other special was Swordfish and a pea and corn risotto. The risotto was delicious and the Swordfish was average cookery and nothing special. We got the Baby Green Bean & Bacon Sauté and wow, those were probably the worst green beans I have had in my life! There was hardly any bacon and they seemed like they were just steamed over water and then tossed in a pan with a bit of bacon and no seasoning. Very bland. We also booked via open table for a Birthday and that was never mentioned. The deserts we tried were Chocolate Croissant Bread Pudding and an orange carrot cake. Both were good, but the bread pudding had far too many chocolate chips for me, so if you LOVE chocolate this is for you! Also, the "reserved" table was still empty when we left. So moving us was completely pointless and quiet frankly rude and set a dark and uncomfortable tone for the meal. The service was still on point and timely. Service ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Server and mood after being moved after sitting down ⭐ Food ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Had dinner Saturday night with my husband for our one year anniversary, also first time out alone after baby had been born. We were seated quickly, our waiter was kind, and the atmosphere was nice…that’s about as much good as I have to say. We each ordered a steak, mine was supposed to be medium well, my husbands medium rare. Mine came out rare the first time so we sent it back. It came back medium, but I didn’t want to keep waiting so I said it would be fine. During that time my husband had waited to cut into his steak assuming they’d gotten his correct, his ended up being completely raw. The manager was called over and said he’d get things taken care of and told us we could order a dessert and a drink for the inconvenience. The steak came back and there was almost no change in the cook and was cold to the touch. We’d been there for over an hour at this point when the manager came back and offered to have the entire dinner thrown out and new recooked for us, we told them to box up what we already had as we needed to get home soon. We ate our dessert, got the check, and both steaks were on it, along with the sides that we’d barely touched while waiting to get both steaks back the way we wanted. We called the manager over yet again to discuss the fact that we’d had only a few bites of our dinner between the two of us, along with the annoyance of it all, and the check without tip was about $160. He begrudgingly took the steaks off. We tipped our waiter well as this was not his fault and then left for home where we planned to cook the food so it was edible in hopes that we could salvage our night. I’ve attached a photo of my husbands steak after we looked at it when we got home. The food did not warm up well and we ended up eating snacks at the house.

Wow, there is no word I can use to describe the experience my husband and I had on 01/31/20. We had a reservation at 615 that evening and didn't have to wait when we arrived. The hostesses at the front were cordial and quick. When our waiter, Nick came out and asked us for drink orders he was dry in demeanor. However, he went over the menu in detail and allowed us time to glance over the menu, so we did appreciate that. Whenever we asked questions about the menu he was short in his answers. I asked if the seafood was flown in daily or every few days since Wichita is not by a big body of water, and I wanted to make sure before I ordered it. I hope he was not offended by the question. My husband and I are from Texas and we just wanted to cover our bases before ordering. It just didn't seem very appropriate to not be happy or more in tune with customers who on average will be spending over $100.00 on a meal. I gave him a few chances, since that is who I am and chopping it up to maybe he had a bad day, tired,etc...so I left it at that. I would say thank you multiple times when he brought out items and his response was "yep", really "yep"? So I stopped responding after not getting any customer service. When the food was brought out, our waiter did not check in and ask how the food was, ask my husband how his steak was,let alone cut into it to see if it was the level he requested. Next, we say how one of the managers was acting and my husband and I were both baffled and embarrassed to be eating at a restaurant that allows for management to act like this. One of the managers was going by to tables and patrons at the bar that he knew and was having multiple drinks with the patrons he knew. He did not do this to all the patrons which was very disrespectful. If you are going to make an initiative to speak to select customers do it to all of them. He walked by our table numerous times and said nothing to us. Another manager, then came to the table in front of us and made a origami napkin for one of the people there, glanced at my husband and I and said nothing. I'm not sure what was said about us but the management and waiter were sub par for a restaurant that is considered "nice" in Wichita. Once we finished our meal, once again the manager who was drinking, laughing, and sitting down with select people had found some of his friends and had the audacity to say thank you for dining with us on our way out. My husband and I both looked at him and said nothing. We but felt disrespected humiliated over the actions of how we were treated for no good reason. We still left out waiter $20.00 on a 120.00 tab even though we had near to nothing service. However, people all have bills to pay and hopefully this review corrects the 3 men we encountered/observed who put a very bad taste in our mouth over service. I see that service is a issue here so this review should not come as a...

Although I'm very late on this rating, I still genuinely feel I need to present this experience I had. It took place on July 13th of last year. My girlfriend and I had made a trip there for her birthday. Figured its upscale so it would be a pleasant evening for us both. Everything started pretty ok. We we're sat within a very reasonable time and were accompanied quickly by a waitress and drinks were ordered. The waitress in the beginning was attentive, patient, and doing a fair job, until after ordering our main course. It was at that point everything changed. She, as in the waitress, was never seen again after that point. We thought to ourselves after a while, maybe she finished her shift and they forgot to send another person to finish our experience. After looking around, waiting for someone to refill our drinks, a man then returned to finally give us some attention. It happened to be a manager and he was the one who finally brought us our food. At that point we figured what we believed had happen was just that, but then we noticed our server was still there and that they had met towards the east side of the restaurant with another lady and had pointed out our table. At that point we had noticed the other lady had posted herself on one side while the manager resided on the other more watching us then helping. Basically, they thought we were going to leave without paying our tab. At that moment that was exactly how we were treated for the rest of the night. We were approached only 1 more time after by the other woman (not our waitress in the beginning), but were watched during the whole time we were there. At that moment our experience turned into an uncomfortable one. At no point could we enjoy ourselves because we were not being attented to and when we were it was a different person each time. Very very uncomfortable for us. Basically, once our drinks were handed to us and our order was taken, we were only helped two more times. Once by the male manager when receiving our food and once by a female manager to give us our tab. Now I remind you, the whole time there was one of the two watching us at all times. Our tab totaled to almost 200 dollars. I still gave a pleasant tip, mostly in spite for being treated as though we were trash, although the experience was horrible, uncomfortable, and very unprofessional. Definitely the worst experience I've had a restaurant period and I have never went back. On top of that, everytime I drive by there I get upset and am reminded of that nasty night. Mainly the reason I decided I needed to make this review. It's been almost a year and I still have not forgotten that night. I don't know if I ever will and honestly anytime anyone asks me, I make sure to let them know...

Absolutely under no circumstance would I recommend this restaurant to anyone! The appearance was great, but that’s the best thing I can say about the entire experience. I set up a dinner meeting with my boss as well as my colleagues in what was advertised as a premier restaurant in the Wichita area. Our reservation was at 7:30 and we were promptly seated. Drink orders were taken quickly and dinner menus handed out within 10 minutes. So far so good….. the drinks start to come to the table as we begin ordering our appetizers. The appetizers take about 15 minutes, but as they are coming out I realize we are still missing drinks from our initial drink order. I reminded the waitress and she said “oh, I forgot” and went to grab them. When she final completed the first round of drinks(after the appetizers were almost finished) she took our entree order. It took an hour for us to receive our food!! From this point it’s all down hill and fast. There were 8 of us and I understand it may take a little extra to time that correctly, but for the price I would think this could be pulled off. 3 of the 4 steaks that were ordered were very very undercooked. Again, I understand the business and gave the opportunity to correct. They took the steak asked the temp and said they would make it right. 10 minutes later, I receive said steak… yup… undercooked AGAIN!!! Almost forgot to mention, the final plate at my table came out as I was receiving my steak for the second time. I explained it was still no correct and told them never mind, I did not want it at this point. A gentleman standing by grabbed it and took it away, only to bring it back and say he really wanted me to have this steak and it should be good this time. I told him I didn’t want it but he insisted and said he would take care of it. I expressed my frustrations at the experience at this point and he said he understood. A few moments later, the waitress comes back and says she would like to offer dessert on the house for the terrible experience we all had. Most of us were not interested at this point. The most frustrating part of this whole experience was that they didn’t take care of the steak they couldn’t get right the first time or the second time, then expressing I didn’t want it, aaaaand not eating it! There was also no problem making sure they tacked on the 20% gratuity because there were 8 of us. I’m f I were ordering a $15 steak from Applebees maybe this wouldn’t have surprised me. Our bill was over $1000 and was absolutely the worst experience I’ve had. I would not only not recommend this establishment, I would encourage you to choose anything else besides here. If you’ve made it to this point, try Scotch and Sirloin. It’s only 10 minutes down the...
