It started off good until we went swimming. My daughter was going to get into the pool when she slipped and hit her head. She was was transported by ambulance to the hospital. My daughter was traumatized, she was diagnosed with a concussion. So needless to say our vacation was over. The front desk staff was nice and gave us 2 bottles of water upon our return to the hotel. The next day the manager called me, asking how my daughter was doing? Nice, right? No, then she says well that's why we say no running. Oh no, I told her actually my daughter wasn't running and their floor is slippery and not safe for children. I asked her have she watched their video cameras? She told me no, she's at home still. What? She is calling to tell me my daughter was wrong and she didn't even check the cameras. The next day the front desk called to tell me they left corporate's number at the front desk for me so they could handle the problem. Do you know when I called him he was rude and told me they aren't doing anything for my 9 year old babygirl that experienced a concussion at their facility. I offered several ways they could improve their pool to prevent this from happening to others. They weren't open for suggestions either. The did nothing to make things better with my family. They didn't even comp our room. We were frequently stayers at this hotel. It's sad to see they don't care...
Read moreSecond time staying at the Homewood Suites @ The Waterfront and will definitely continue to come back. Front desk staff - Sarah, Heather, and Samantha are absolutely wonderful to interact with, have smiles on their faces, and made me feel like a very valued customer staying at the hotel. Since my work schedule made it that I would miss breakfast being served on a few days, Heather was able to grab some breakfast items for me to have in my room. I met Shannon when I was training at Flight Safety and saw him again during breakfast one of the days I was able to partake. From a great conversation with him I can tell he genuinely cares about the property, his staff, and that the customer has the best experience possible. Todd was an absolute pleasure to interact with and have take care of me during the Wednesday evening social. He was sincere, made sure to check how myself and other guests were doing and if they needed any refills on drinks or anything else. Rooms were exceptionally clean and well maintained, as well as the rest of the property. Food for breakfast and reception was delicious. Kudos to the staff and management at the Homewood Suites @ The Waterfront, you are definitely doing things right and I look forward to staying here again in...
Read moreWe spent the night at this property while traveling through Kansas. We had a very nice stay. It's one of the best 2 or 3 Homewood properties I've visited (and I have visited many). The property is very nice. Pretty much everything is a notch above most other Homewood properties. Our room was clean and comfortable.....also quiet.||The hotel sits on a lake and has a very nice courtyard area on the water. There's a walking path around the lake. The pool/hot tub is indoors and is well maintained. There were a huge number of towels available.||Breakfast was well done. It was a notch above the typical Homewood breakfast and the dining area is very nice.||All of the staff we encountered were very helpful. They all greeted us nicely.||My only disappointment with this property is the fitness room. It's very small and crowded. There are a few cardio machines and a cable machine crammed in the corner. There was a bench but no dumbbells. It needs to be bigger. As I'm writing this, I'm staying in another Homewood property. It has solved the space problem by having 2 fitness areas.......one has cardio and the other weights. It works well. The fitness room is the only reason I did not rate the...
