I came here for the first time by myself and was greeted with some grumpy staff. After I sat myself, then my server came to the table offering coffee. I didn't get her name until I saw it on the receipt. I ordered the ham traditional breakfast with 2 fried eggs well done. My 2 sides were hash browns and an english muffin. One of my 2 eggs were fully done. The other one was still a little soft in the middle, but definitely not runny. The eggs were incredibly bland but salt and pepper were at the table to season it to my liking. I asked the server if she had a mild salsa or picante sauce so I could put them on my eggs, and I was not aware there would be an up charge until I got my receipt. They charged a 1.39+tax for a 1 ounce cup of salsa that tasted like pizza sauce. The flavors of the salsa were very strong of onion and oregano, which was a little odd to have at breakfast with eggs. The ham was large, juicy, delicious, and perfectly seared. The hash Browns were nice and crunchy on the outside but seemed very underdone, and almost mushy in the center. When I ordered the hash browns, the server asked if I wanted them with the onions and cheese. I did not know the cheese would be an up charge either. She made it sound like it was included. It was .99+tax for the cheese. It was 1 slice of American cheese ripped in half. Each half went on the 2 servings of hash browns. The English muffin had been grilled and arrived to the table later than my meal but was not hot and wad kind of soggy in the middle. I only ate half with some jelly provided at the table. The server became friendlier throughout the meal. Overall, the food was good, but for an almost $20 experience for 1 person minus the tip, I expected the staff and the food to be better. Compared to IHOP, it was a little more expensive, but it does have a more home home cooked taste. I can tell they are used to an older crowd, so I wasn't surprised that the serving staff was a little angry, or that their...
Read moreBeing a regular customer at Jimmys Egg at 8728 W Central in Wichita, KS, 67212 for a number of years, I looked forward to using my free entree gift certificate and going Jimmys Egg to enjoy my breakfast this morning, 2-13-25 at 8.57. I sat down at the counter and as soon as I placed my order, the current woman manager and a waitress came at me with flared nostrils and inappropiately announced loud enough for the other customers in the restaurant to hear her acuse me of leaving without paying my bill on my last visit. The manager blurted out that she was going to watch me while I ate to make sure that this time I paid my bill before leaving. Embarrassed, I tried to explained to the woman manager that the last time I came and gave my waitress a hard copy of the email showing that Jimmys Egg had given me a free entree at my next visit, for being a good customer. I further explained that I had ordered water to drink at that last visit, knowing that there would be no charge for my entire meal. I further explained that I left a large cash tip for my server, even though my bill was ZERO! I further explained that I asked man waiter Austin if I had any balance while using me free entree voucher. Austin said I have zero balance! The woman manager explained that even though I left the hard copy of my free entree with the new waitress at my earlier visit, that new waitress did know how to enter my free entree voucher into their computer, so at todays visit, their records show that I left at an earlier visit without paying my bill. She said that the entire misunderstanding was all Austin's fault becuase he simply said that I should have zero balance. I recommend that Jimmys Egg employees all know how to honor Jimmy Egg's main office gifts to their regular customers and not inappropriately humilate them in front of other customers when they have done nothing wrong....
Read moreThe food is good but when you walk in it feels like you should sit and wait but they say to seat yourself. If you order online i suggest to walk all the way to the kitchen door or you may not be noticed. I've gone several times, food is always good. Wish they would keep the orders separated so we don't have to use other plates when we get home with three or four orders of the same meal. The last time I went i stood between several empty tables next to the bar waiting for someone to address me so I could pick up my online order. First waitress walked by and said seat yourself. I stepped closer to the bar and kept standing. That same waitress i guess was on break said excuse me so she could sit at the bar in the chair i was standing next to while i still waited for someone to ask for my business. Finally another waitress came in and asked if i had a pick up order and the name. Waited five more minutes for another waiter to free up to check me out. Total time spent waiting for a to go order that was already ready was about ten minutes all while I heard all about the waitress on break's day. I am also still waiting for the reimbursement after they charged my card $.35 then said it declined since they didn't run the whole amount...
