Very disappointed in the service and quality. Frequent customer. My server was probably not well trained. I sent my English muffin back as it was not toasted, no butter… had just been taken straight out of the package. It was returned to me still not toasted but with some kind of melted margarine/liquid or something on top. It had not been toasted so no reason for it to be “melted” to a liquid. The peanut butter had separated in the container, I showed him by literally pouring the oil off 2 of the containers on to my plate and he still wasn’t sure why that wasn’t ok. He offered to go talk to his manager. After a few moments he returned and presented me with the bill for over $13. I spoke with the manager on my way out, she comped my food and charged me for my coffee. She seemed not super concerned about any part of it. Seemed too focused on the change in peanut butter brands. And, yes… the change in quality of peanut butter and English muffin was noticeable but that was not the deal. Multiple opportunities for service recovery were missed. I definitely...
Read moreMy husband and I once a week if not twice go to Village Inn for breakfast. This was one of those mornings and went to the Village Inn on Meridian St in Wichita, Ks. The hostess that sits people down at their table was incredibly rude this morning. I had specifically asked not to be by the kitchen and she went straight towards the kitchen and I reiterated the point not by the kitchen which then causes my husband and I to be indecisive for a moment, which in no way justified being treated the way we were. She stopped in front of the booth, didn’t even ask if this was okay, just placed the silverware on the table, back towards us and walked off. Did not asked if the table was okay or if there was anything else that she could do to help us, nothing, just walked off. I asked to speak to the manager and ... let’s just say after this morning, we have found another restaurant establishment to enjoy our breakfast dates and it does not include...
Read moreThe server Kiara was wonderful, no fake flirting for a big tip, just a natural kindness and exceptional knowledge of the menu. She is the only reason that Village Inn gets 4 stars, a good example of professionalism which seems to have died out with wearing pajamas to job interviews.
The kitchen brought the rating down considerably. I ordered turkey sausage, I do not eat pork as a religious preference. I was served one turkey sausage link and one pork sausage link. The chicken strips were bland and the syrup had at least a tablespoon of water in the top of the container. Twenty years ago it's been since I last ate at a Village Inn, cold food and no resolution from the manager is why I didn't go back. Seems like McDonalds, no one really cares about the quality of overall service at any of the restaurants and it continues to be the case over generations. There are other options out there you can get pies at the counter if you are really...
