We stopped by Five Guys Burgers in Brownwood for lunch. I order a double hamburger all the way and a large fry. My wife had a cheeseburger all the way and a strawberry milkshake. The gentleman that took our order was very polite and well spoken. The food was prepared in an open kitchen were you can watch them making your order if you would like. Now a days I think that might be a good idea at alot of places. After a short wait we were called to pick up our order. The food comes out in a brown paper bag, by the time I got back to our table the bag was almost see through, that means the food was made with love and care. It might not be the healthy choice but the food was really good. The burger patties were well seasoned. If you order all the way, make sure to get extra napkins, you will need them. The milk shake had plenty of flavor and was made using real strawberries. The only thing that kept me from 5 stars is putting the fries in the drink cup. They get mushy before you get to the bottom. Overall would...
Read moreHow many guys does it take to make a burger? Almost five.. it actually took three! If you enjoy plenty of people with their hands in your food, this is the place to go! Ridiculous, first the guy from the register goes to preparing food after taking your payment, not to mention there's a cook standing right there? Then the cook does her thing, and at the end here comes the guy from the fries who wants to handle the burger on your sandwich as well! Just because you have on gloves doesn't give you a pass in food preparation, especially when you touch everything in the restaurant with those gloves! Needless to say, they can have the $12 for the overpriced Burger. Preparation was so disgusting I had to "walk out"! They need a visit from a secret shopper and or the health inspector. ... Not to mention the cook was cleaning the grill (in proximity) the whole time while frying my burgers! I think you're supposed to do that before you start cooking someone's...
Read moreOur family stopped here on our way through Florida as we were avoiding the turnpike during some heavy traffic. We found this location by searching for a Five Guys along our route, and I'm glad we stopped. This is definitely one of the better FG restaurants we've visited, with ample indoor and outdoor seating. We opted to eat outside on a lovely evening when a music concert could be heard just down the street at the Square.
The burgers, fries, and shakes were all consistently good, though it did take a bit longer than expected to receive our food. The location was a little challenging to find because it's tucked inside of The Villages community drive, but it's a very unique area with lots of shops and golf carts transporting people all around.
Definitely would stop here...
