We have been to this restaurant a couple of times, but two weeks ago we were there for happy hour for the first time. As always, the food is great and the service is HORRIBLE. First, they tried to seat our part of 6 at a square table with only 4 chairs. Then they crammed all of us into a booth and got my son a height chair but did not offer him a children's menu, I had to go back to the front counter and ask after they took our order and I realized other tables had children's menus given to them.
Then, when taking our order the server mentioned it was happy hour. We asked what drinks that applied to and he said, "The House Margarita is part of Happy Hour". That is all he said, so when we looked at the menu and saw the house margarita listed for $8.25, we assumed it being Happy Hour meant our drinks would be cheaper because that is the definition of happy hour. They bring our drinks to the table and HOLY COW these things are massive. Strawberry was okay, mango was much better. Neither my husband or myself could even drink half our margarita it was so large.
After receiving the wrong order two different times, we finally ate and then got our bill. We were charged the FULL menu price for our margaritas at $8.25 each. I asked the server, "Why was I charged full price for the drinks I ordered? You said it was happy hour." His exact response was, "Yes, Happy Hour means we give you more in your glass." Um, that was not explained at the beginning when we asked about happy hour, nor is that the norm anywhere in the United States. I don't know anyone who asks about Happy Hour and assumes it means they just pour more in your glass between 4-6pm. We explained to him that was confusing and I never would have gotten a drink if I knew it was that price, he didn't care. We asked to speak to the manager and she was rude and not helpful in the slightest.
She told us the Happy Hour drinks are 2 for 1, but that was not written anywhere on the menu and it was never explained to us by the server. As I mentioned before, we barely finished our drinks. If someone gave me a 2 for 1 option I would've GLADLY taken 2 smaller drinks for my husband and myself. My father and I have worked in food service for years, and I have never seen a manager handle a situation so poorly. We weren't asking her to comp anything, we didn't ask her to give us anything, but the right thing to do would be to take off one of our drinks or at the very least sincerely apologize.
I will never go back to this restaurant because good food isn't worth absolutely...
Read moreOrdered lunch from here yesterday they said it would be 10mins. I told them chicken fajita chicken taco salad. I even let the gentleman know I have a beef allergy. I said how much will it be? He said 10mins and hung up on me. I figured maybe his English wasn't that good no biggie I'll just pay when I get there since I work in the Brownwood square anyways. I get there and they proceed to tell me I never placed an order and my food isn't ready and it will be 15-20mins now. Now I'm a little upset and showed them in fact that I did call the right store and I did place an order with a gentleman who's English wasn't that great. They went to the kitchen and came back out like 5mins later with a bag and I paid for it. I should have checked it before I left but I was in a hurry they gave me steak... I couldn't even eat it I had to throw it away and skip lunch... I will never come back here and I'll let everybody know the customer service is terrible. The manager on duty wasn't even concerned about my food order and he obviously seen that I was...
Read moreThings were going extremely well. The wait for outside dining on a Friday evening was reasonable and accommodated in less time than stated. The margaritas were excellent as was the food and service. Things were going about as well as they could until a party was seated next to us with tow dogs. We do not prefer to dine with dogs and were not asked if we had an objection to being seated with dogs that were barking and snapping at guests. Apparently, FL allows restaurants to make their own dog rules as long as they are prominently disclosed on signage that would allow guests to know in advance if they are going to be required to dine with dogs. There was no such signage in this place that we saw and to be forced to dine with dogs is unacceptable. Why do diners that are already seated not have a say in whether or not they will have barking dogs at the next table? I do not think this is either cute or funny and I do not believe the health department is doing the right thing by allowing dogs in public restaurants in the...
