We should have taken a cue from all the folks that were leaving -but we were hopeful and my parents really wanted us to try the food. We were made aware they were short staffed. Apparently a couple of folks called in sick to work -this said, the customer situation was manageable. What was unmanaged, was the process along the way. First, you should always have back-ups. Second, there was a lack of management on-site. Third, the problems extended past the wait staff all the way to the kitchen. Fourth, no acknowledgements and updates were given (instead patrons were ignored). We waited 15 minutes before even being approached, then another 15-20 before getting our drinks. We were there about an hour with absolutely no food in sight (we ordered 2 pizzas and 2 salads). Around one hour after walking through the door, I heard our waiter exclaim “20 more minutes?!” to the kitchen staff. I can only gather he was talking about us as everyone else (12 people) had walked out at that point. With regard to atmosphere: tables, chairs, and the floor were filthy. At one point a table was being bussed and plates were dropped. Normally no big deal -except salad scraps and dressing hit the side of my mom’s pants and shoe. Perhaps the waitress didn’t see it, but when my mom asked for a rag after explaining why she needed it, she was handed one with no apology or offer to help clean her pants/offer resolution. Overall, there was a HUGE lack of management that extends past today’s events. The process from orders, to the kitchen, to the register were in no way functional. In short, the system was jacked and even in the absence of a manager, this should not have happened. Not only was a manager missing, but organization and flow of the entire process was deficient to the point I don’t place much blame on anyone but management. Needless to say, all we had at Flippers...
Read moreFor the money we spent the quality was overall disappointing. We ordered delivery which took over 2 hours which I realize is door dash not the pizzeria. We ordered a mushroom pizza that was AMAZING! The garlic wings weren't bad but were soggy in their own juices, no crisp at all. The pepperoni pizza we ordered for my 4 year old was BEYOND burnt. Like they knew it was burnt and should have had the professionalism to recook it, as 3/4 pieces was inedible and my daughter was so sad. The salad, which I ordered with an extra dressing on the side, I thought came with no dressing at all. After attempting to eat my salad the next day, I learned the dressing was already on and made the lettuce so soggy it was like mush. The cheese bread we ordered has 6 slices without a single piece of cheese on it, only basil. Honestly I don't know if they have terrible quality when eating in restaurant or just thought they could be lazy and get away with it as I already paid $125 for delivery. Sadly we are literally right across the street from them and the mushroom pizza would have been enough to bring us back several times if it wasn't for the sheer laziness and poor quality of our burnt pizza, soggy salad, cheese less cheesy bread and soaking wet greasy wings. Save your money if your getting anything other than a 16 inch Roasted mushroom pizza. And definitely don't splurge on delivery. So...
Read moreFlippers Pizza just straight up has great pizza. I would definitely urge everyone to try this place if they haven't already.
On our most recent visit, we got a large pepperoni and sausage. The crust is definitely something to write home about. It is soft and chewy without being gummy or hard as nails on the edge. it also has a great flavor that actually makes you want to finish the crust rather than leave it sitting on your plate like a 10-year-old.
The cheese is delicious and definitely real because there are little tiny pools of grease in the cheese. Just enough to make it really tasty but not enough to make it sopping wet and in need of a napkin.
The place was clean, and they kept care of their customers very well. They sanitized in between each customer which is definitely a bonus during these times. There is also outdoor seating if you prefer and the day was very pleasant so I would recommend it as long as the sun isn't too blazing hot.
If you're not into the pizza, they also have a number of salads and appetizers that you can have, those of which we have tasted have been very good.
All in all, you should definitely try...
