This used to be a good location. It is horrible now! We just picked up a to go order. The $18 chicken tender dinner consisted of 4 tenders, a hand full of fries and was completely missing the slaw and pickle all together. We also got a dessert sampler for two. It was supposed to a slice of chocolate layer cake and a slice of banana dream cake. The chocolate layer cake slice was about the size of a standard slice of cake but the banana dream was less than half the size of the chocolate layers cake slice. Getting the dessert for two was only 1 dollar less than getting two seperate slices so it was rediculous that we got 1 slice and a sliver. Also, when I went in to pick up no one was there, it was dead. A guy met me at the door and said "what?" This was more than s hour before they are supposed to close. Then when I got home I called to let them know and was put on hold for almost half an hour. When the "manager" picked up he had a very strong accent and sounded exactly like the one who was do unprofessional when I came in. He stated they were closing but he'd leave a note for the other managers to remake our meal on a different day when they are open. It is STILL 25 minutes until they are scheduled to close. I told him I'd just end up having to go get a fast food burger to supplement the food they charged us for and refused to provide so he can credit me back the difference between the dinner and the lunch tenders and credit back the second slice of cake we didn't get. He literally said it would take 2-3 business days and he needed me to read him my card number!!! He had to know what transaction it was since there was NOONE else there!! I honestly am just going to call my card and put in s dispute. And there is no way we'll visit that location again. Be warned, it's become a horrible place to dine. No wonder they...
Read moreBoth my parents and grandparents live in The Villages. They both rave about Too Jays and dined there most every Saturday per my grandparents request. They were thrilled when we traveled in from N.C for a visit and of course our first stop to dine together was Too Jay’s. We sat outside on the patio and it was sunny but windy! Per my 92 year old grandfathers request he wanted to move to a different table away from the wind, in front of the entrance so there could be a barrier. Forget about the napkins and menus blowing, this was my grandfather’s only request for a comfortable dining experience. The manager/hostess told us “No, we could not move because that’s the pick up area.” Let me be clear; there were 6 of us so our dining time was about an hour and a half and literally there was not one pick up and only one other table was seated on the patio. We moved anyway without permission and when I told the manger that’s what we were doing she just threw up her hands and said “I guess.” The whole interaction seemed like and overwhelmed employee & some random form of a power struggle. It was unprofessional, handled poorly, and 100% NOT hospitable. I do not recall our server even smiling once except for when she brought us the check 😂 I’m incredibly disappointed in our experience and so badly wanted to love this place as much as my family did. Sadly, after that a group of people who have been coming most every Saturday for the past year or so decided to not return again from such an embarrassing and...
Read moreAnd maybe off my topic here but since I never worked here I can't leave a review. Had a job interview here person who set up the interview was a little disrespectful manager that I talked to couldn't see me after driving all the way up there did not say why. I've already filled out the application. They didn't seem to want to look at it. They brushed me off at the interview. After contacting Amanda several times in the store that I finished the application, he decided to ignore me when he was off the phone or even on the phone did not talk to me about the job or anything. I think this place is very unprofessional and very disrespectful. When I first walked in the door as well. The hostess and the servers look very unhappy. I will no longer try to apply for this job due to the disrespect during the interview process that supposedly was happening and it seems like a favoritism type place. They don't show any type of professional courtesy when they're doing interviews with people and I hope they see this. But since I have not worked here before, I can't leave any bad reviews on the job websites. But I do not recommend this job if you plan on getting disrespected fyi, I don't disrespect others and I don't tend to get disrespected back. There was no need and was uncall for...
