Ok, here's the deal. I've moved to Wilkes Barre about two and a half years ago. Several people when they understand where I live say, "oh, you're not far from Angelo's". I've heard such good things, past it a couple of times, looks like a whole in the wall but don't let it fool you, it's PIZZA and nothing but and GOOD! Let me tell you!
No they don't have wings, hoagies or anything else they a focused on one thing and that's pizza! And the product speaks for itself! I called a few time the line was busy. Fourth try got through, nice young man, didn't seem rattled at all, just another day! Ordered a large, thick crust, extra cheese with sweet sauce, onion, sausage and mushroom! OK, 40 minutes.
Exactly 40 minutes later I arrive! Every seat in the place was filled, a line to pick up, at least six people employed doing something, obviously a good business! Efficiently worked through the line, my turn, had my pie ready to go, $18.00 something, gave a $20.00 dollar bill and said to throw the rest in the tip jar! Thanks!
Took my pie home piping hot! Man, I'm telling you, this is probably the BEST PIZZA I have ever had! Perfect in every way! I've had Old Forge, use to do business in Chicago and had it from many locations, did a stint in NYC for a few moths and lived off pizza, none as good as this and just blocks away! Love that!
i'm going on a pizza diet! Angelo's is the bomb! You have to try it!...
Read moreSo hate to post exactly what my partner wrote, but she could not have written about my experience anymore succinctly. Just unnecessary rudeness towards a customer.
"I hate to write bad reviews, but sometimes it's necessary. My partner called and ordered a pizza today. When he arrived to pick it up, he was accused by the cook of not placing an order. Having his cellphone on hand, my partner told him that he did call and had the call history on his phone to prove it. While pulling up the history, the cook asked him repeatedly, "What number did you call?" My partner was in the middle of giving him the info while repeatedly harassed. Though a clear call history was provided, the cook's demeanor did not change. My partner calmly paid for our order and was told to wait 20 minutes. As he was walking out of the shop ( to wait outside), he overhead the cook say to a co-worker, "He never called!" This prompted my partner to swiftly turn back around and pull up the call log yet again to show the cook. It's in poor form to speak badly about paying customers. It's classless to speak about them when they are in earshot. This turned a fun night in with pizza into a dinner with unnecessary tension. I've been a patron of Angelo's for 15 years. This will be my last order from there. I will also always discourage everyone I can from going there. No customer needs to be abused over a simple...
Read moreI absolutely love Angelos Pizza the only thing that I would wanna bring to management is that when people use a credit card or debit card you are not actually allowed by law to charge a fee every time I go in there the young guy at the counter says is it OK if we charge a fee to your debit card the 3% fee you agreed to pay through your financial institution when you agreed to have the credit card machine it’s actually illegal for you to charge customers a fee to use a debit or credit card if you Google this, you will see it will come up that is illegal. I worked in the financial institution for over 30 years and used to take calls about this stuff all the time other than that your pizza is amazing. Can businesses charge a fee for paying with a debit card? Many state laws allow for a business to charge a consumer an additional fee, called a surcharge, to pay by credit card. However, this is not allowed by law in any state for debit cards, even when the transaction is...
