My party dined at Margarita Azul on a Friday night around 6:30 p.m. Although there were booths inside the restaurant, it was closed off, leaving us no choice but to dine outside. There was seating available, but barely. There were covered tents/cabanas outside, but all of them were occupied, and it was recommended we call ahead to reserve one on a future visit. We were seated at a very large picnic table, which isn't very convenient if you want privacy. The hostess wanted to place us directly across from a family even though there was plenty of space elsewhere at the table. We asked to be seated at the other end so both parties can dine alone. While we ate our meal, other patrons turned down this seating option, most likely for the same reason. A young, friendly family was later placed across from us, but as soon as another table opened nearby, they asked to be moved. Clearly, this large community table is not a popular choice, and should be replaced with several smaller tables. The Queso Fundido with Carne Asada appetizer was served in a small skillet with what appeared to be homemade tortilla chips, but was very bland appetizer and tastless. The Ceasar Salad, on the other hand was very good. The chicken quesadilla with pineapple and peppers was delicious, but the sour cream side, like the Queso Fundido, lacked any flavor. The guacomole side was thin and not very robust. The chicken chimichanga was perfect, the tortilla fried just right, and stuffed with beans, rice, cheese, and, of course, chicken. It was well prepared and quite pleasing. The California burrito was also very good, with plenty of french fries in the middle. If you don't mind eating outdoors or potentially dining with strangers, Margarita Azul has some delicious dishes. Our server was extremely helpful and polite. If they can improve on the Queso Fundido, the restaurant can easily be five stars.

Okay, so I dont normally write negative reviews ( check my past 298 or so ). My experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. The ONLY positive thing was our waitress was very nice and tried to accommodate us the best she could. We made reservations for a party of four at 6:45 PM on a Saturday. When we arrived at the restaurant our table wasn't ready ( which is not a huge deal ) once we were sat down it took about 20 minutes to get our drinks and put our appetizer orders in. When our appetizers came out they were missing items, for example we ordered queso and nachos, well the queso came out 10 minutes before the nachos, and obviously you cant eat one without the other. So we finally put our entree orders in at about 7:15 PM and they didn't get served to us until 8:30 PM, ALMOST 2 HOURS AFTER WE ARRIVED. Our orders did not all come out at once, they sort of trickled out, naturally I got mine last and incomplete of course. Then we made the mistake of getting dessert which tacked on another 45 minutes, we did not leave this restaurant till almost 9:30 PM, DUE TO LACK OF KITCHEN SERVICE. Thank god we did not have any plans after, because they would have been ruined. The restaurant itself was extremely noisy with loud music, the food itself was good but it was definitely not better than others. Personally I don't think I will be going back anytime soon. The amount of disrespect for customers time was appalling, if everything was going to take forever they should have made us aware prior.

Four of us visited here for lunch on a Sunday. There is street parking as well as a parking lot about a half block away. Upon entering, it wasn't too busy so we were able to choose which table we wanted. Our server came over pretty quickly to get our drink order. The only Margarita flavor they had was lime. Two of us ordered a La Vampira, which is frozen lime Margarita topped with their homemade sangria. It was really good! We ordered chips and guacamole as an appetizer and that was good as well. I decided to go outside of my usual Mexican food order (typically consists of burritos, tacos and fajitas) and I ordered the Chile Relleno filled with cheese, steak, shrimp and chicken. Wow! Was this good!! It came with a healthy helping of rice and refried beans. Everyone else enjoyed their food as well. We all agreed that we would definitely return. Service was decent, The only complaint I had is dirty dishes were left on the table for long periods of time.

I absolutely love the food here! The prices are alright too. But some, not all, of the waitresses have zero idea whats going on! I'm not sure if its the obnoxiously loud music they always have playing or if theyre drinking on their shifts. Idk. But I was here last night and got 2 tacos, fried cheese and street corn. I asked for red and green sauce. They never give me the red sauce. This time I got no sauces! No limes, no napkins, no silverware. I asked for napkins, silverware and limes after they brought the sauces out and she only brought me napkins. Most of the waitresses are nice and accommodating but this one girl seemed like she literally could not process what I was asking for. She even repeated the three things I asked for. So when she gave me the napkins and asked if I was good, I just said yes. They don't have name tags so idk what her name is. Figured I'd wait for a different waitress. And thats exactly what I did. I had to wait to get utensils to eat my food. I was seated outside in the back since its the weekend and they dont seat you inside. I was seated at a table with two higher chairs before the waitress came over and asked if I would mind moving. I said of course I'll move if you need me to. They moved me to a big picnic table all by myself. When I was done eating, I had one taco, some fried cheese and half of the street corn left. I wanted the esquites or however its spelled thats in the bowl for $7. Its triple the amount of the corn than the corn on the cob for $6! I asked for a container for the leftover food and was brought a tiny container to only fit the 5 pieces of fried cheese in. So I ask for a bigger one and she brings me one bigger one and two more smaller ones. I was given four containers when I only needed one big one! I will no longer go here on the weekends! I saw a review about waiting a long time for food when they reserved a table. We had the same thing happen to us when it was a party of 5! They gave our table to one of the waitresses friends that came in! We waited almost two hours for a table that we called ahead for! Then they kept bringing the food out at different times or missing half the dish. It was crazy! We were there for hours! The one time a waitresses friend came in with her kids and a box of pizza and sat at a big table. The kids were allowed to run around the entire restaurant screaming the whole time, running into the kitchen and out to the side dining room. We got up and moved to the side dining room before this happened to get a quieter table. The mother just let them terrorize the whole restaurant! Nobody said anything because like me, they realized the lady and her kids were friends of the waitress that was working. But you could tell they werent happy and were aggravated. They have a beautiful backyard that the kids could've ran around instead of inside the restaurant. Its a very hectic and loud environment at all times. But after last night, I'm questioning if I'll ever...

We went here for dinner last night, let's start with the fact that you do not even have the option to sit inside, you are forced to eat your dinner outside. So the waitress comes over and proceeds to see us at picnic tables with benches attached to the tables meanwhile I'm wearing a lace dress and heels and she expects me to straddle this bench in order to sit down so we asked if there were any tables with chairs she said yes but they were in the other section is closed for no reason so eventually she decided that we can sit over there tastes over there the place is dark as night, you can't see your hand in front of your face. As we are walking to the table there's a giant tree in the middle of the walkway with no fence around it no lights on it no warning and very low very thick branches. My husband split his head open on the branch because we didn't see it because there's no lights except for a very small strand that goes around the top of the entire fence, the waitress acted like she didn't even care all she said was oh wow I'm sorry. So I ordered our meals they bring over our appetizer with the chips that are so thick and so hard your cannot even bite through them. So then our meals come, there are two sauces on the plates we ordered street tacos, again I reiterate that you can't see anything because of how dark it is, the waitress doesn't bother telling us which sauces what or warning us that's a hot sauce is about 7 billion and four scoville units! It is literally so hot my husband has a blister on his tongue today from it and he only had a drop just to test it thankfully. 20 minutes later the waitress returns to see if everything is okay, not once asking if his he's okay since he hit his head do we need anything, nothing because she's in such a hurry to rush back over to the two guys at the bar that she was busy talking to. By now we've had just about enough and are ready to leave but can't get the waitresses attention because not only is she completely busy with the two gentlemen sitting at the bar but it's so dark she can't even see us! So I get up to go get the check, almost all of her I don't even know what because once again still can't see anything even though I'm using my phone as a flashlight. I got to check ask her for some boxes and as I glance over the check just to see that everything was there and you know nothing was crazy out of whack on the bill, I realize the beverages we ordered, non-alcoholic beverages I might , came to $13 for two 12 oz cans of Coca-Cola and a 4 oz glass of orange juice! The food itself was okay at best but as far as the atmosphere and the service, it was absolutely horrible! Now I know why the place was completely dead! Awful experience and we definitely will not...

I’m not sure where to start... our reservations were for 6:30, our table wasn’t ready. We tried to order drinks while waiting at the bar. After 15 minutes the bartender took our drink orders, out of the 5 of us, they were out of 4 of the drinks we ordered. No Pomegranate Margaritas, and the frozen margarita machine wasn’t working. After ordering the homemade sangria with fresh fruit, not a single piece of fruit to be seen. When asked, the bartender said they were out of fruit. The bartender offered us 2 beers for our inconvenience. At 7:11 we were finally seated (41 minutes after our reservation). Waited another 10 minutes for the waitress. Very dimly lit. Couldn’t see the menus. Ordered a side of guacamole for our table (they don’t do table side guac) small cup of guacamole $6.50. Didn’t give us any chips, salsa or silverware for several minutes. Had to sit there staring at the guacamole. After a few minutes our chips came. More minutes passed before the waitress came to take our order. Our dinners took 30 minutes to come out. 2 of our 5 dinners were wrong. Sent 1 back but kept the other because I was starving. Still no silverware. Had to sit there watching our food get cold ( by the way, it wasn’t very temperature hot anyway). Finally got our silverware. Food was lukewarm and mediocre. No condiments on the table, no salt, pepper, hot sauce, nothing. Had to ask and wait for hot sauce. Young waitress seemed inexperienced. The other one, who is probably half my age, called everyone Hon (my pet peeve). It took us all of 15 minutes to finish our dinners and of course had to wait quite a long time again for our check. Check comes, no 2 free beers like the bartender promised, those beers were on our bill. And the original frozen margaritas that we ordered more than an hour before, mysteriously showed up. Apparently they fixed the machine. Never will I go there again. La Tolteca has it all over this place. Better service, prices, atmosphere,...
