Went to Terry's for the first time for my birthday dinner Sunday Dec 19, after hearing great things about this place. So we made a reservation for a party of 5 for 6:30pm the same day with no problem. We unfortunately had to take a detour due to 611 being closed, no big deal. We get to Terrys and were welcomed immediately and shown to our table. We were greeted by our server, who was very friendly. We immediately ordered our drinks and appetizers. The appetizers came out quickly- fried calamari, garlic bread and the cheesesteak&buffalo chicken wontons. All were amazing. We then ordered our main courses and a pizza which we asked for it to come out before the dinners. We then waited about a hour or more for our salads to come out the server kept apologizing that she was not able to bring them out until the chef said it was okay for her to bring them out. A half hour after we got our salad we asked if the pizza was ready, our server brought it out about 20 min later. Pizza was decent. We then waited another hour for our food, we asked multiple times if our meals were ready, the server kept telling us that everything is freshly made to order. Our daughter started getting cranky and was being loud, there was a Christmas party going on and another large party and we didn’t not want to interrupt their meals. At this point we were there for over 2 hours and we told the bartender (because our server was no where to be found) that we wanted to pay for the food we ate and leave. The bartender went to the kitchen and then a young man came to our table and said “do you want the food or not”, he was very rude. We informed him we were there long enough and had to leave due to our daughter. We were given our bill, paid and left. Maybe in the future (not around the holidays) we will revisit and just order our main...
Read moreOkay Terry's Italian restaurant. First my girlfriend found a hair in her vegetables. Actually it was one of her vegetables hanging from the hair off of her fork. The chicken was overcooked. The potatoes were kind of like balsa wood except they were dark brown and balsa wood is a light color. They were very dry. I had to drink a lot of coffee and mix it with the potato as I was chewing it. My girlfriend used to the wine. My girlfriend said the wine was good and generous. 08 generous pour. Perhaps that's so we would overlook all the other things. if you were really drunk would probably be pretty good. Strangely the steel the ceiling was made from steel siding. Which had a lot of dents in it and scratches and all kinds of bumps and bruises. there is a trailer park across the street and maybe they demoed a trailer and then put it on the ceiling. Data painting in the back that was supposed to be of some Italian village. The artist painted the background in reds yellows and oranges making it look like the village was in flames. I think it would have been better if people were hanging out the window screaming for their lives. So there was some bad art. They also had some stuff for sale. Small watercolor paintings for $85 each. I don't think I'd give more than $15 for any of them. The waitress was excellent. That's about the only good thing I can say...
Read moreTerry's may be the Lehigh Valley's best kept secret. When we moved here just over two years ago we began the search for the best restaurants in the area. There were a few restaurants in town (Easton) that looked pretty good, and some were. Nothing really jumped out as something that would be our go-to place. Terry's was very close to where we live and it looked like a charming little place, so we decided to give it a try.
From the moment that we walked into Terry's we felt like they welcomed us like family. We were very impressed with the service. Then we got the food and it was unbelievable. Their chef really takes every dish to the next level. The freshness and quality of the food are always great and we have never had something that we didn't love. Everything seems very reasonably priced too.
More recently we started going for the filets that they have on Wednesday and Thursday. I understand that this is a bold statement, but this is the best steak that you will get in the Lehigh Valley. I have had filets at Keens, Peter Lugers, Mastro's City Hall, CraftSteak, and many other top steak restaurants. The filet at Terry's still stands out as one of the best steaks that I have ever had. We usually go every week now for the steak and always look...
