Gaetano's Restaurant — Restaurant in Willoughby Hills

I too was serviced by the elder waitress, she was short with me, rude and disrespectful, provided poor service, acted like we were bothering her upon arrival, no greetings . asked for bread, recieved no butter, then she asked if we had enough butter and we responded didnt recieve, brought out two frozen pieces. The bread is delicious but no oil is available. The wedding soup was so salty. If i ate it I might have had a stroke. Had to ask 4 refills on drinks, only one person got refills. The clams linquini were served with oil and hard pieces of garlic instead of requested white sauce as ordered. The chicken Marcella was excellent!the fried mozzarella was terrific. After appetizer. Wait staff came back to take our dinner order, didnt respond quick enough for her , slammed her order book , ask customers; are you done with me yet? I like the vibe. Places aren't geared toward going and having a nice meal these days and feeling like you have time to sit and really enjoy your food. The server was great. The food came out at a good temperature. The portions were excellent, especially for the lasagna. Our dinner was delicious and the place makes you feel like you are family.

Second visit and this time I got the lasagna. I am attaching a photo (last photo) of the lasagna. As you can see the size is quite literally mammoth. Sadly though the noodles were hard and the meat was covered in so much pepper that it was hard to eat. I didn't say anything in part because the waitress was exceptionally nice and the food came out piping hot, but I have never had something this drenched in pepper. Almost as if the cook/chef dropped the pepper shaker into the meat. Something isn't right and I don't think I will be coming back. Updated Review For 4/26/2025 I recently dined at the restaurant with my group of friends. It was the best dining experience I've had in quite some time. Our server Ava B was great 👍 The baked bread is delicious, The food portions are great. For the group of 7 people, everyone's meal came out piping hot. Some restaurants have lukewarm served food. Not Gaetano's! I've never seen a portion of lasagna that large in my life. LOL Saturdays are busy, so reservations are requested, at least for a group dining. All my friends were happy with their meals and are looking forward to coming back for another group dinner at Gaetano's.

Original Review Ordered take out a few times and my order was ready on time. I love the meat sauce, which is very meaty and flavourful. Some restaurants meat sauce only has a very limited amount of meat, but gaetano's sauce is not like that. Their meatballs are rather large and delicious.
