Let me start with the Good 🙂 Good= friendly staff, clean inside ,nice size portions and variety of choices.
Now the not so good/ needs improvement 😕 Not so Good=wait times and consistency of food .
First visit was a week ago and we enjoyed everything- had jerk chicken dinner and 6 BBQ wings and some dumplings. There was a 30-40 min wait but we ordered spur of the moment After our first meal we decided this was the place we were going to get hubby’s bday food …..🥳
When we came back for the Second visit was a little disappointing 😟 I called in my order at 11:30 right when they opened to try and give plenty of time .. was told 40 min and planned accordingly . When we arrived at the appointed time the food wasn’t ready yet so we waited .. we didn’t receive our food until another 40-45 min for a total of close to an hour and a half from the time we ordered. This was for my husbands birthday and we were meeting family in the park so it pushed our plans back a bit . Also the dozen BBQ wings we received did not seem fresh and were a bit tough almost like they were from the day before and this too was our first time trying the goat curry, which in my opinion could have been cooked a little longer as it was not as tender as we are used to with curry goat we have had other places which was very disappointing given it is one of the higher priced menu items .
Unfortunately the second visit was not the best . The wait time beyond what was stated ,an error with bill ,the quality of the wings, and the curry goat after spending double our first visit left me a bit sad. They seemed a bit short staffed which we all have gotten used to with this pandemic . The lady who took our order and was going back and forth to the kitchen was very nice which was wonderful . I want to support this business and even gave a generous tip for my take out both times in support . We need this variety of food choices , but this second visit honestly has me a bit apprehensive about...
Read moreI have wanted to try this place for like two years. I have picked up a fair number of Uber orders from then over the years and it always smelled so delicious.
I got the curry goat large, jerk chicken small, coco bread, and a beef patty.
Everything was absolutely anazing. The beef patty was flakey and the ratio of meat to pastry was perfect. I would go back just for those.
The coco bread was fluffy and well made perfect for the sauce.
My chicken was prepared perfectly it was still moist and the flavor was amazing. I got it mild spicy but for my palate i would say it was more of a medium spicy. I would still definitely recommend it. I got a side of rice and cabbage and that was all well cooked as well.
My boyfriend had the goat curry and a side of rice and red beans and rice. he couldn’t stop telling me how good it was and next time to just get him two sides of red beans and rice. The wait time was long but as with good food that is normally the case so i dont mind. I spent around 35$ and had an amazing meal I will...
Read moreComing from a professional exec. Chef, this is Amazing authentic Jamaican food! I’ve ordered dinners for my girlfriend & I with sides and we always try to order something different to try outside of our usual meals everytime!
The food is always served hot, super flavorful, packed with spices and herbs, and the heat/spicy level is perfect. Just enough to get your attention, but not too much to burn your mouth.
The jerk chicken is soo juicy, the red beans & rice are on point and the Rasta pasta/ cabbage is always a must to get with your main protein choices. The fried plantains are amazing! The jerk bbq wings are amazing as well! Grab yourself a coco bread to soak up all those juices and sauce when you’re done, you won’t be disappointed.
