I had sworn off Claymont Steaks on Philadelphia Park over a year ago, as I had been given the wrong order and it was NOT what I had paid for. I contacted them and NEVER received any attempt to make this right (and I had been a loyal customer for YEARS).
After getting several coupons from Claymont Steaks I finally decided to give them a 2nd chance. I ordered a large cheese steak (which normally would be good for 2 nights dinner) with EXTRA EXTRA CHEESE AND STEAK (and paying for it). I went on 11/22 to pick up my order as I had errands in that area - I was not greeted, treated like I was bothering them, the sandwich was shoved at me as if to say "here's your order now get out you are bothering us"(even though NO ONE ELSE was in the store as it was rainy, cold with snow showers mixed in). Oh and allow me to say I TIPPED a full 20%.
Got the sandwich home to wrap it so I could have it for dinner today (Saturday and Sunday) and I can tell you there was NO EXTRA EXTRA anything on it. The Turkey Gobbler hoagie I had gotten from Wawa the weekend before had MORE meat on it, you could barely get it closed.
I filled out their survey and have not heard back - I doubt I ever will - live and learn I guess. To all others I say, AVOID Claymont Steaks at ALL of their locations. I would think at a time when sandwich shops and take out places are crying that business is down due to the economy, I would think they would go out of their way to value their customers and give the customer WHAT THEY PAID EXTRA FOR.
This is ONE star...
Read moreThe cheesesteaks and zings are the only things that earned 2 stars. Service and accountability for mistakes is nonexistent.
We have had an issue with them shorting us on zings almost every time we order them. Last night we placed an order online that with tip was $108 and notice that the status was "under management review" 40 minutes later. We gave it another 10 minutes and when the status didn't change, we called. We were told that the computer does not alert them of an order if it exceeds $100. Um, what??? The order itself without tip was well under $100 but I was not arguing with someone who had no control over the computer system.
They rushed the order through and came to our house missing 3 sandwiches, an order of fries, and once again shorted us on zings. I called up and was advised the delivery driver forgot half of the order so I sent a family member up to pick it up. Meanwhile I ask them to remake the sandwiches and fries as they were going to be cold. The woman told me they keep them under a heat lamp. I explained to her that when food is under the heat lamp, it becomes soggy and stale. I asked to speak to the manager but was told he was on the other line and had just started there. Meanwhile the driver shows up still missing the zings. The food came stale, soggy, and two hours after the initial order, fries were inedible, and the manager could not be bothered to call us back.
I refuse to order from them again as I could have microwaved the 3 sandwiches and order of fries that tasted better than what...
Read moreAfter leaving Chuck E. Cheese with the family, we decided to grab a bite to eat, and we randomly stopped at this place because we heard they had excellent Philly cheesesteaks. Once inside, we were impressed by the clean atmosphere and the great menu options. Although we initially planned to order something different, my wife and I ended up with tuna subs, while we got our son a little pizza. We also shared some mozzarella sticks. The food was outstanding, with fantastic flavors. The pizza was especially amazing—truly top-notch. There was nothing to critique about the experience; the staff was fantastic, and we’re definitely planning to return to try more menu items. Despite being known for their Philly cheesesteaks, we were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed the simpler tuna subs. The food was served quickly, in generous portions, and I highly recommend checking this place out. Among all the pizzas I've had recently, this one stood out. I feel really fortunate that we decided to stop there at such a random moment, and I’m excited to go back and explore more of their menu...
