So before I forget, I will post this review real quick. I just Found this cute somewhat noteworthy little boutiqueish shop In a rather odd location,(a strip mall with a IHOP on 202 in Wilmington) considering they carry a few decent lets say a bit more high-end labels. A nice little mix. There were two attendants on floor, Unfortunately I did not ask the name of the one helping me, but she had red hair, was polite, Engaging and had no pretense. I found it Refreshing as mostly in present day we seem to be dealing with the Let me say epidemic of omnipresent delusional snobbery in retail in almost any Mediocre to Somewhat high-end boutique/dept store(reserved mostly back in the day for truly venerable stores such as Bergdorfs, Henri Bendels, Holt Renfrew, Neimans and Saks. Still not justified imho but it was isolated to a few establishments).Yes, we've all been dealing with it lately, rather it be retail, Real Estate, Salons etc etc. There is this crazy unjustified, like I said, a delusional sense of entitlement running rampant these days in customer service oriented positions. It seems no less than twice a day someone is telling me one of their horror stories of yet another incident. There is far to much competition out there and these days making friendly banter, making friends or at the very least Being polite to your clientele is Paramount if you want to succeed. This applies most aptly to any small boutiques or "mom and pop" business currently. It is SURPRISING how many do not grasp this. The public is not tolerating it and they are onto the next quickly these days. So again it was refreshing to engage with someone who was courteous, when treated with respect. Anyway, It is worth a quick look/See if you are in the area. Oh, also, heads up. As this did stymie me a bit, but you must be buzzed in to enter the store... I'm not sure if this is because of the location Or....I am guessing location as Such areas as Palm Beach or The Hampton's with over the top High End Labels do not have this method in place so I feel it is a safety...
Read moreI want to like this store. I really do. They have cool stuff. However, like a few other posts here, the customer service needs vast improvement. I have stopped in the store many times in the past and 3 times in just the past month or two. I keep hoping things have changed, that's why I go back. But nothing ever does, so my most recent visit was my last. No one speaks to me, greets me, or offers to help. I usually come directly from the gym, so not wearing fancier clothes. Hair in pony tail. No makeup. Sweatshirt. My most recent encounter was the same as the others. Entered the store, two more "well dressed" customers entered less than 30 seconds behind me. I was totally ignored. The sales clerk nearly fell over the other two customers, even showed them the sales racks and asked what they were shopping for. I saw a few pairs of cute shoes I would have loved to try on and likely would have purchased, but no sales clerk came near me. I didn't smell so I guess they thought I could not afford the shoes. It's a real shame to see that there are still people out there who judge others based on how they look or how they are dressed, but that is clearly the situation here. The store obviously does a good business and does not need me as a customer. I wish them well and hope they continue to always have the type of clientele they...
Read moreMy first experience at Peter Kate about 7 months ago was fabulous! An older salesperson was super friendly. ( I bought $1000 + in merchandise and told my bestie to check it out.) Last month I visited again and neither sales person there gave me the time of day. Not even a hello. I was one of 2 customers in the shop. I walked out. Unbeknownst to me, my bestie stopped in the store for the first time this past week and she had the same ice cold experience. There was only one other customer in the shop and two salespeople. She bought $600 worth of merchandise and neither sales person was friendly. We will...
