I had hoped this place would get the 5-ststt mark, but it didn't. The 3 stars is more like it, and will even argue with a 2.5 star rating.
The best part about this place is that it's new, and hence clean and tidy. The staff were very nice and helpful... The food was not impressive. We had a big order, the double classic, veggie burger, two kids cheeseburger, kids chicken nuggets, French fries, and mango dream and chocolate milk shakes.
The double classic burger, which is supposed to be the flagship burger, was not impressive. It didn't feel freshly made, and it lacked the flavor. The patty had a well rounded shape, which makes me believe it's not fresh and instead previously frozen. The lettuce of the burger was old for sure and I didn't appreciate that. The rest of veggies didn't taste much. The bread also had no signature whatsoever. It wasn't bad, but it just wasn't impressive by any measure and even had any notable flavor that I could savor or remember after I ate. The veggie burger was not too bad, and in fact flavorful, but it was loaded with onions that it masked the full burger flavor. Kids burgers were same as adult burger... they were OK, and nothing impressive to want you to come back. Chicken nuggets were not bad, again, but I could tell a difference from those you buy frozen and bake or fry at home, and not the greatest quality ones. They had very thick breading that was full of salt and not easy to eat, and you had to dig deep to get to the meat part of it.
French fries were just OK... Not bad, but not great either. Just OK.
The milk shake were a huge disappointment. I don't even know how to describe them, except that they tasted like frozen milk with sugar. It wasn't creamy and it lacked any flavor.
Finally, the cost was massively high... if I'm paying $7 to $9 for a cheeseburger, I may as well go to Five Guys or Shake Shack and taste a flavorful food.
So what's the bottomline? Will I go back again? Unfortunately I will say that I will not go back there considering the lack of flavor combined with...
Read moreThis was my first time to a Habit Burger, so I wasn't sure what to expect. First impressions: the inside is nice, there are tablets to order from so you don't have to stand in line, and they have both indoor and outdoor seating to accommodate COVID-19. The cashiers were friendly. We ordered a double charburger with bacon, fries, a golden fried chicken, and a half fries/half onion rings.
The order was ready for pickup when we arrived, and the cashier asked me to double check my order which was fantastic. I noticed there were onion rings but no half fry/half onion ring. They gave us the onion rings at no charge and also gave us the half fry/half onion rings which was very nice. Everything else seemed to be in order, but unfortunately I realized there was no mayo on my burger when I asked for extra. Sadly I only noticed as I was already eating my order. Overall, I would give the service a 4 out of 5 stars.
As for the food, the best way I could describe it is: Better than McDonald's but worse than Five Guys. Maybe around the level of Wendy's? The fries were about the same as McDonalds, soggy and not crunchy if you are into that. The burgers tasted average but were quite large. The fried chicken was decent, but the fried layer was not crunchy and the oil had leaked into the sour dough bread we had substituted for a regular bun, making the bread soggy. The sauce on the chicken is tasty and pretty spicy in a good way. The onion rings were beer battered if you like that style, kind of like what you would get at a carnival. I would give the food 3 out of 5 stars.
If there was a 3.5 star option, I would give The Habit 3.5 stars. Unfortunately, since there isn't and I lean closer to a 3 I went with 3 stars. Overall not a bad place for a bite to eat, but Wendy's is closer, cheaper, and almost as good if...
Read moreThis was my second time going to the habit. The first time I had a better experience. Second time I ordered two meals plus other items and asked for 2 lemonades. They handed the drinks first and since I was thirsty, I decided to take a sip while I waited for the meals. The drink turned out to be soda (watered down sprite). While waiting and wondering why the food was taking long, I peeped inside and saw the guy who was handling the food had no gloves. I just shook my head and continued to wait for the food. 3-5 minutes later the food was handed out to me and before I could tell the lady that the drinks they gave me were wrong, she had already said her goodbyes. I then told her that the drinks were wrong and it took another few minutes for her to give me another drink. Note that she had given me two watered down sprites but this time she only handed me only one "lemonade" that tasted so bad I ended up throwing it out. It seemed like they didn't have lemonade but they didn't tell me that they were out so they made some type of concoction and handed it to me. I would have appreciated it if they told me that they were out of lemonade and I would have ordered something different, or just stick with the burgers alone because the fries were also a bit disappointing. Why so...
