Jeremiah's Italian Ice — Restaurant in Wilmington

I hate to write a bad review, but my wife and I visited Jeremiah's, which is very close to where we live, and we weren't impressed. I was excited to have an ice cream place nearby, since there aren't many others. The store itself is bright and welcoming, with lots of nice outdoor seating. The service was pretty fast, even though there was a crowd. The menu is a little confusing because it focuses mainly on their layered treats, which consist of layers of italian ice (gelati) and soft serve. If you want just gelati or soft-serve in a cup or cone, you can find them in very small print in the bottom corner of their menu display. There are a LOT of gelati flavors to choose from and you can probably create your own combinations. There was a sign saying they have free samples, but it was crowded so we didn't have time to sample anything.

The prices are very high! My wife got a small soft-serve cone (smallest size available), which was $3.99 and was even smaller than what I would call a "junior" cone anywhere else (there was maybe 1.5 inches of ice cream above the top of the cone). She said it wasn't great ice cream. For $5.39, I ordered a small "peanut butter cup", which had "p-nutty" gelati layered with chocolate soft-serve and chocolate chips. It was probably a better value than the $3.99 cone my wife got, but it was still very small. Worse, I thought it had no taste whatsoever. I detected no peanut butter flavor, and even the chocolate ice cream didn't have much taste. The chips were standard mini chips. I am a big peanut butter guy and I love real peanut butter cups, but this dessert didn't satisfy my peanut cravings.

I come in to the Wilmington multiple times a week since they opened. The Store is always clean and neat and very well stocked. Nothing makes me happier than to be at the door as they unlock it in the morning. Even though I’m the first customer of the morning, I am always greeted with a smile and a very pleasant. How are you doing this morning. Tonight I did not see my normal girl. Whoever is Casey, but I did encounter Adam and Natasha who handled everything wonderfully, they answered every question I had and were so pleasant and kind to an old lady who was confused. I came in on Valentine's Day with my three kids and one of their friends since they got coupons from their school. A lot of places when you get something like that make you feel like a bother but when we came in the gentleman(and his family him assuming) explained everything to all of us offered samples checked on us afterwards and really made it an awesome experience to the point where I've gone out of my way the next day to make a review because they really deserve it.
