So this is probably the closest I've seen to actual Mexican food. I did want to clear up something I have been seeing in a lot of reviews. These are completely normal sized tacos. My quesadilla was much larger than I had expected. It was also very greasey. The guacamole on it was a bit old as you can see in the picture. Gringa was kind of disappointing. Overall it is not bad and probably one of the best choices in the area for Mexican food.

If you're looking for a traditional taqueria, look no further. I had the pastor, suadero and carnitas...plus rice and beans for $8.99. Los Portales also has a nice salsa bar with a variety of fresh vegetable accoutrements. Alcohol is available along with Mexican soft drinks...plus the outdoor seating looked nice and the indoor area was new and modern. Really solid choice for lunch if you're in the Shipyard Blvd./Independence Rd. area.

Great food, great service. I love how they have a salsa bar and you can just load up your tacos how you like them. They have about 5 different salsas and they are all very good! Tacos were a little smaller than what im used to back home in Chicago but flavor did not disappoint. I also had an Asada “sope” very good i have no complaints about this place. 💯 percent recommend for some authentic Mexican food.

We walked in with a family of 12,the ordering process is a nightmare. We were told the only drink options were beer and the Mexican sodas displayed in the cooler,l we went into the dining area and found a fountain drink machine. They give each order a number but the server didn't know they number they were delivering to,was chaos due to most the party not even seated yet. The dining area felt like a nightclub with bouncy music blaring making it unbearable forcing me outside leaving my family to sit alone outside, one person asked I was okay after about 30 minutes,I told them about the music, they just smiled and walked away. The staff brought one small basket of chips to the table and no salsa for 12 people. Finally ate my cold food and the taste was bland and very underwhelming so say the least. Absolutely miserable experience for my family on...

We have been here 3-4 times for tacos and margaritas. The restaurant is in a strip mall. The menu is written in Spanish and many of the customers are Spanish-speaking as well, but the friendly staff speaks English and there is English on the menu. You order at the counter, seat yourself, and the staff brings your food out to you. We have only gotten tacos here, so I can't comment on the other menu items. The tacos are always very fresh and good, with homemade corn tortillas. They are small, so make sure you order 2-3 if you are hungry. They typically are served only with meat, but there is a taco bar to dress them up however you want to. Beware - some of the salsas on the bar are VERY spicy. The margaritas are made to order and are very good. The tortilla chips are also good. This is a great place to go for a quick,...

I had been told this was the best Mexican food in Wilmington, so I had high expectations. You order at the counter, pick a seat, and food is delivered to you. In the dining room, many of the tables needed a good cleaning, and the floors needed to be swept.

Let me start by saying that chips cost extra. While they were good, they weren't extra $$ good. I ordered a burrito and a coconut margarita. Both were good but not anything amazing or revolutionary. Husband ordered some tacos and a burrito and had the same experience. Salsa bar was not labeled well, and a couple of the options were so hot they blew our palates out. I would like to try the other locations to see if I am maybe missing something because this experience was good...
