This. Was. So. Amazing.
As a plant-based / vegetarian / vegan eater, who was dining with omnivores - NOONE left unhappy
Here's what the table ordered (and we highly recommend):
Apps: · CAULIFLOWER WINGS, both flavors (which you can ask them to split one order 1/2 and 1/2) · CHILI CHEESE FRIES, these were delicious with a hearty sweet chili
Entree: · TRASH BURGER, I don't know if this needs an explanation other than if you're not really hungry, this can definitely be split between 2 people · PIMENTO BURGER, good but would pick Trash Burger over this tbh · BBQ PORK TACOS, the human that ordered this didn't realize this was a plant-based restaurant, so he thought he was ordering the one "normal meat" item. He didn't know it wasn't meat until we told him he was wrong it wasn't really pork. 🤣
Sides: · FRIES, if you don't dig the beet ketchup you can ask for regular ketchup or dip them in the sauce from the cauliflower wings · BLACK BEAN & LIME SOUP, it has a little bit of a kick · SUPER GREENS SALAD, this one of our local friends ordered. It's one of her faves.
Drinks: · KOMBUCHA FLIGHT · PINEAPPLE BASIL · ARNOLD PALMER YERBA MATE SODA, this was not sugary or heavily carbonated like normal soda · Kombucha Margarita · Kombucha Old Fashion
Keto? Order something without the bun / bread. They also offered to turn more entrees into hearty salads.
Not sure what kombucha you'd like? Get a flight or ask to sample before committing to a full glass. They bring out a little shot glass to try it first.
Service? Low key and excellent
Seating? Indoor and outdoor options.
Really, I loved this so much I'm sad I don't live in Wilmington. It will be my mission to come back for a vacation, just to eat here again (& enjoy beach with the company of good friends)
Update: Still impressed after all the time away. Of the kombuchas lavender hops and peach basil were our favorites. Took home leftovers with a...
Read moreI used to adore this restaurant. I'm not vegan, but I eat plant-based about 75% of the time, although usually I have to do it from home because I am, unfortunately, in a hate-hate relationship with gluten. This place though? This place had plant based AND gluten free options. Lots of them!
The vegan spinach artichoke dip? Devine. The vegan tacos? Superb! Wash it all down with a gluten free kombucha? Yes. Yes a thousand times!
...then I went last weekend. Brought the whole family. Three generations were at that table, ready to eat our favorites. Out of the eight of us, four needed gluten free food. We of course knew about the omnivore changes, but that was okay, because no one is vegan, and we were told that all menu items would still have plant-based choices. Great! The problem was that the menu now only had two gluten free items... Soup and salad.
Don't get me wrong, soup and salad is fine, but not when you're expecting spinach artichoke dip and tacos! We asked about it, and our waitress informed us that the restaurant doesn't even have a dedicated gluten free fryer anymore, so even the fries are no longer safe, meaning not even my kids had something to munch on anymore.
We left and won't be returning, which is a damn shame, because this place had a vibe and the food to match. Now it's just like every other restaurant.
Wishing the business well on its transition, but very sad to no longer be part...
Read moreMe and my boyfriend went here to have dinner and he’s been here before, he said it was fully vegan, good food, and the trash burger was good, it was a pretty big burger and not normal size and thought it worth the price which is $17. First the service was not great, our server was literally never there at our table checked on us one time. We asked for our order and we very clear about what we wanted and he had messed it up. It is NOT fully vegan and they automatically assume you want animal products, my boyfriend gets really nervous about these types of places because not only is he fully vegan, he also has a medical problem and cannot have any type of meat or animal products and can get very sick just from it coming into contact with his food. The burger was $17 and it was the same size as any normal burger but with cheese on top, it came out soggy. My biggest issue is when the waiter TOOK money out of MY account, the burgers were $17 a burger and was not worth it and I didn’t have much money to spend so I ended up not tipping, which is something I usually do not do. I filled out the receipt and put a line through the tip and put the total. I woke up the next morning with a notification saying that the waiter took a $2 tip out. I am not mad about the fact he took $2 out, I am mad because he took any money at all. I don’t recommend...
