Soundtronics — Local services in Wilmington

We brought in a LED light kit (underbody and interior lighting, purchased elsewhere) to be installed in our VW Beetle Convertible. The whole crew was very nice and helpful. We spoke with the installation guy (whose name I can't believe I've already forgotten.. Doug, I think?), and he assessed the lighting kit and the car and discussed placement options and challenges unique to the car.

We hit a couple of other places in town before going to these guys. At each place we left not feeling entirely comfortable. I'm not disparaging the other places, I'm sure they are nice folks working hard to make a living... but if you're primary concern is a professional and quality experience, Soundtronics is where you want to go. It felt right when we got there, the preliminary discussions were right on track, and the work was completed at the time and price quoted, and it was a quality job with some thoughtful considerations (placement of lights, controls, etc).

Based on this experience, Soundtronics would be my first stop for (and first recommendation for) any audio/video related entertainment needs for home or auto.

Unrelated to Soundtronics... the kit by the way was LEDGlow's bluetooth enabled million color kit. It's pretty banging. Have had quite a few compliments. Million color is a stretch though... it's really about 6 colors, and a handful of sequences/modes. Still pretty slick, and the iphone or android app based controls are way better than the confusing...

I needed a security system rewiring, and after Doug's assessment he concluded it would need to be removed completely and put back. He was right; the initial wiring was a mess, and he installed it neatly leaving me access to my once-covered fusebox. He also explained how the relays prior installed were not sealed (unlike the ones he uses) causing intermittent power un/locking. I had to come back twice for a "touch-up" because ultimately something that isn't factory to the car will have kinks to overcome. Doug did so without charges. Lastly, I found online a quick modification which could be done to allow my fog lights to turn on only with the parking lights and not the main lights, and Doug was able to do that as well. Doug can be a little intense and one-way when he explains what he's going/trying to do to the security system and car, but he still listens to your requests and preferences and he is experienced in what he does. The proof is in the pudding when everything works.

He installed remote start in my standard transmission car. This is a service which is very hard to find, because of "liability" excuses, despite the fact viper security systems have a "pre-procedure" every time to enable it before leaving and arming the car. This is a huge plus, considering I got turned down from best buy...

Here is my issuse they didn't charge me for plugin a wire coming apart for head unit and accessories (GREATFUL) it took them 10 minutes. My main issue is that I FEEL like Soundtronics over charged me on a reverse camera and labor REASON there was already a camera there and they used the same wiring system that was already installed i have the old unit where the cut wire and attached the new unit but kept all the wiring accessories NOTHING was wired from the head to the rear of the vehicle I wasn't giving the wiring harness from new unit, They kept it (DECEPTION) I have no problem a company making money but don't RAPE for it you didn't spend an hour doing this work Please see attached pictures✌️

Follow up 16 January 2025: I spoke with the Owner Jonathan we had a great conversation and I THANK HIM for understanding my point. He also explained in great detail of his cost to which I understand. But in this conversation certain things wasn't used that was in the box and labor rate in my mind wasn't fair. He agreed to REFUND half the labor rate to which I accepted. We also talked about certain personal things on better training he agreed to address. During our conversation I learned to RESPECT this man more you can hear the sincerity in his voice.
