Solomon's Porch Cafe & Catering — Restaurant in Wilmore

One of the owners, Erin, went way above and beyond the call of duty to help delivery a birthday cake to a friend who lives in town (I am from out of state). I wanted to get a strawberry shortcake to my friend who lives in Wilmore for her birthday (which fell over Memorial Day weekend). Erin looked up recipes for me, made the cake especially for this occasion (it was beautiful!), delivered it on Memorial Day (a holiday), and helped figure out my friend's schedule (she is friends with someone who works with her) so that I could keep it a surprise. All this for a very, very reasonable price! My friend said the cake was delicious! I can't thank Erin and Solomon's Porch enough for their exceptional service and willingness to be flexible! I've lived in Wilmore for many years, and I do like Solomon's porch. Full honesty though, I only go there for coffee, and only rarely because they have a sign that ask you to make all card transactions a minimum of five dollars. I don't carry physical money on me. Since I don't spend that much on coffee I feel discouraged to go in, since I don't spend more than five dollars using my card.

As for the food, I've tried most of the things on the menu, and the food is far from bad, but it's also not near amazing. I suppose I went in with too high of standards, it all taste like something I could make at home. The burgers are kinda tasteless and I wonder if they season them.

This is a beautiful, artsy little cafe with friendly service and yummy dishes at good prices and our good Lord at it's core. Comfortable seating inside where you can decide what style of chair suits your body best and street seating with umbrella outside. The lighting is cozy and soothing, so is the music. They offer 3 different kind of drip coffees (or was it 4?) and many more coffee-drinks as well as a great assortment of teas. I love that you can get a mug if you dine-in. And the nicest part: the mug itself is heated up! Ain't that sweet 🥰! They also have some bakery items which do look enticing. Restroom is well maintained and parking across the street aplenty.
