Reviewed breakfast places near me and based on the number of repeat customers and mostly positive reviews, I went. Saturday breakfast. Surprised there is available parking out front and at rear of building. Very, very small eating area with counter seating on stools everywhere. Definitely a very long term eatery. Everything old, dingy but frequented by friendly customers who know everyone and the staff. Coffee is served in a geat traditional old, solid ceramic small mug. Coffee is good....not as robust as I would like, but if they were to begin doubling up on the Coffee filters, it would make a hugh difference. Staff is so friendly and P/T Jenn's smile is so warm and welcoming as well as the great attention to service. Ordered eggs over easy, rye toast, home fries and Pork roll/Taylor ham. First breakfast place I ate in 6 years that actually serves fresh cut potatoes rather than the bagged prepared type. While not seasoned and or with onions, just a tad of salt and pepper does the trick. Thickest Pork roll I ever had. Tasty, could cut with my fork only. Had to be 4-5 slices by comparison found at other places. I spoke to the iconic owner - George. He's operated the location for 43 years. This wonderful man is very old, quick with a smile and a very personable indivdual. I see why he doesn't retire, he loves people and his business and that will bring me back to enjoy breakfast...

It is a throwback to the old school family diners that used to be so prevalent in this area. I hear some narrow minded people call it dirty….nothing could be further from the truth! The cooking areas are immaculate as well as are the plates and utensils. This is an old building, and the interior is somewhat dated but it’s anything but dirty. Do yourself a favor and stop in for the best traditional breakfast in the area, hands down. While you’re there strike up a conversation with some of the regulars, many of whom are lifelong residents of the Borough…who knows, ya just might learn...
Read moreOk I LOVE the atmosphere and the people are great. It seriously takes you back to the old days. The people that come here are old steel workers etc. Hard working class honest folk. Thats why it breaks my heart to say i didnt like the food. Now dont get me wrong...I love a greasy spoon old fashioned breakfast on Sunday morning just as much as the next person but I abhor scrapple. And whether you order the scrambled eggs or the cheeseburger it all has that flavor on it because its on the grill and spatula. But it doesnt stop me from going! I love to go for the coffee and the people...its like someone hit the rewind button on time to the 1950's. Good...
