For over 20 years, Chicken Primavera has been a family favorite in our home. We’ve enjoyed it countless times, and even got my daughter and grandchildren hooked on it. Yesterday was my daughter’s birthday, so she ordered the dish to celebrate. She even drove from NJ to PA to pick it up. When she got home, she was so disappointed—it didn’t taste like the Chicken Primavera we’ve loved for decades. Instead, it was just chicken in marinara sauce, which we personally don’t care for. We thought maybe it was a mistake.
Wanting to surprise her and make it right, I ordered it again today through the Slice app. Not only was there a big markup, but also over $10 in fees (including tip), making my order $40+ compared to her $25 in-store price. I was excited to think I’d fixed the birthday disappointment—until she called to say it was the exact same thing as yesterday.
I called Slice for a refund, but they said the restaurant denied it because “that’s how they make it now.” I called the restaurant myself and spoke to the manager, Lucy, explaining the entire situation. Her solution? A $5 credit each for my daughter and me. I pointed out that between us we’d spent nearly $70, and asked if they’d changed cooks. She admitted the recipe might have changed and suggested that “next time” we call and request the old recipe. Seriously?
While I was still writing this review, Lucy called back after speaking to the owner to offer a $10 total credit. That’s it. After 20+ years of loyalty, that’s how they handled it.
Sadly, they’ve lost two long-time customers, and I will be sharing this story often. If you’ve loved their Chicken Primavera in the past—be warned—it’s not the...
Read moreBest grandma pizza around, actually one of the best that I know of altogether. They make a "medium" for around $14 that's 6 slices. It's the perfect portion for a hungry couple. Or when I'm starving to death by myself, lol. The chicken parm hoagie is really good here too. Also, a pepperoni pizza here has a unique taste. There's chili powder somewhere, like in the pepperoni I think. Sounds weird, but it's actually really good. Nowhere else I've been far and wide, uses the pepperoni that they use. Sliced thick too. Service is... fine. It seems like it's a family business, and the hostess and cook have been there a while. Nice place though. A few basic beers on tap, and some bottles to go. The grandma pairs well with chilled yeasty bois.. Recently moved into the same neighborhood, so quickly becoming a go-to, but I've been using them for 2-3 years already, while living...
Read moreOverpriced and overcooked! $12 for 10 wings, are you serious? Grilled chicken is not grilled, more like griddled. Tastes like it was prepared in the morning and heated up as it's ordered, old and dry. We snd back a sandwich they made a mistake on and they clearly dug thru the melted cheese and the sandwich to correct their mistake, and come back to serve us a pile of slop that we are expected to pay $16 for. Restaurants are struggling with costs, I get it, but if you're gonna charge inflated prices you better serve a correct order. I don't care how many 4 and 5 star reviews this place gets, the way we were treated and quality of food we were served will not warrant a return visit. Better off going to Pizza...
