I cannot give this place higher than a 3, they are lucky it isnt a 2. Food is good, most of the time. Service is good, half the time. Wait time for food is terrible, most of the time. But it truly is hit or miss. It depends who the server is. It depends who the cook it. I live nearby, and went there no less than 8 times in the first month I lived here. 4 times literally, I left there happy and glad I stopped. 4 times I left ticked off. Water tastes like sewage. Not sure if they fixed this but I havent tried it in 6 months. I ate their by myself once for lunch at 2:30pm, it took 45 minutes to get a burger. There was less than 8 patrons in the building, and half had their food when I got there. We actually left once pushing an hour after we got there, when we still had no food. Cole Slaw they have is the only Slaw I have ever eaten in my life. But again - it is only good half the time. 50% of the time, there is alot of sauce on the bottom (almost soupy) and it is more salty and it is awesome. This weekend, it was lettuce with some soy sauce remnants on it. I recently ordered take out. Got home with two $14 orders of fried shrimp, but no cocktail or tarter sauce. Seriously - forgetting this is unacceptable. Fried shrimp without sauce?? It is like forgetting the bun on a burger. I was missing a salad entirely which was the meal of choice for our guest. I called back and said I wanted it recooked when I drive back, because by the time I leave to get the salad and sauce, and return home, food would be cold, which I didnt pay $50 for cold food. It is a 15 minute round trip. The manager Chris stepped up and said absolutely he would do this. I give them Kudos for making this right. However, it still is only a good trip 50% of the time. I hope ownership can get their stuff together. There are alot of places to eat around the north side of the lake. I moved here end of summer 2016 and there are 4 places you can get a burger, that didnt exist in August 2016. There is a new Mexican, and new Mexican/BBQ, and Sonic all within 50 yards of their business which didnt exist in August 2016. The competition has increased, and they have done nothing to separate themselves. They need to step it up or they will not be around in...
Read moreI stopped in for dinner the previous week. Salad was good, drink was good. Only issue was alot of flies inside and a bit of an unwelcoming atmosphere. Chocked it down to being a locals dig. Gentlemen server was pleasant. Decided to give the outside patio a try with my family. Big and expensive mistake. We walked in to the same unwelcoming feeling, not a smile or "hello" or "welcome" in the place just a bunch of cold stares. I asked the bartender (same girl with the unwelcoming face as my first visit) if the second tier to the outside seating was available. She snapped at me that I couldn't order food at the bar. (Wasn't remotely what was asked) I decided to brush it off to her having a rough day. We went to sit and order our food with a young blond girl as our waitress who didn't hesitate to show her discontent with serving us. They had limited availability of their menu so we finally settled on fish & chips, patty melt, chicken and a salad. I also had a cucumber collins. The waitress didn't bring napkins and rolled her eyes and huffed when we asked for them and a few other negative body languages occurred throughout our visit. Three of the four dishes were extremely over salted. Not sure if they were returned by previous guests (people sometimes salt their food when they ask for a remake) or if they just had a really off cook or the waitress was taking anger out on us but the food was so over salted that it felt like we were not welcome there. Drink was of very poor quality as well. We tried to make the best of it and laughed and enjoyed our evening as much as possible. But given the attitudes all around and my children being the only darker skinned people in the place, it really makes me second guess the treatment we received.
All in all, it was a very expensive and disheartening experience for myself and my children. I would highly recommend going a few doors down to the Mediterranean restaurant. They have much economical pricing, friendly atmosphere and absolutely...
Read moreWe were visiting Canyon Lake for our family vacation, as we do every summer. My 21 daughter and her friend were dropped off by me at 10:48 pm for a drink. I noticed the time because I watched a man walk in the door at that same time with a young child. My daughter and friend waited at the bar for approximately 20 minutes before the bartender acknowledged them. The bartender asked for IDs and then accused them of having fake IDs. My daughter offered to show a picture of her ID and asked that they scan their IDs because there absolutely not fake. They are from two different states because the girls are from two different states. Just because 2 people are together but have IDs from different states doesn’t make them fake. Once the bartender accused them of having fake IDs, the girls were forced to leave the bar even though they had done nothing wrong (again, they are 21 and just wanted to enjoy a drink while on vacation). My daughter even asked to wait inside while she they wait for me to get them. The bartender said that they “obviously aren’t 21 since mom had to pick them up”……um, it’s called being responsible and not driving while drinking. Plus, they are from out of town and don’t have a car with them. Fast forward to me picking them up. I went inside to ask for a manager to explain that they were 21 and shouldn’t have been forced to wait outside at 11:15 at night by themselves when they hadn’t done anything wrong. The man working said that I was “bullying our way back in”, which is not the case. No one from our family/group will visit this establishment again. I just wanted them to know that these girls absolutely are over 21 and wrongfully kicked out of an establishment for no reason whatsoever. Staff was rude and treats customers terribly.
Btw- I. Reply to your comment on my husband's review, the girl’s mom was not intoxicated. I am the mom and don’t drink. But I was upset that you kicked young ladies out to the street...
