Don Señor Mexican Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Winchester

I've been going here for a while and thought I might share my most recent experience. Service here can fluctuate a lot. I mostly order take out and I would have to say 1 out of every 3 times I do the order hasn't been started till I get there.

In my most recent experience I ordered takeout and when I got there someone else had taken and paid for my order. I had to wait for them to cook a whole new order, which was fine. As I go to check out she reads back the order and I tell her that it's wrong. After a couple moments of back and forth I say it should be fine. She tells me my total and it's a little bit more expensive than what I thought it should be. She explained to me that it was just tax and I paid and left.

After I got the receipt I realized that she had charged me for the more expensive order that she messed up, she charged me for salsa that I didn't order, and she charged me for a take out fee when my order was started as soon as I got there. Every plate matters. I’ve eaten at Don Señor several times but my latest experience was lacking. Most other times I’ve eaten there the overall experience was at least a four if not more.

This last time was very underwhelming. My food was barely warm, not hot. Asked for guacamole 2 times but never got it. In the past they asked if we wanted more chips and salsa. This time a party of four received one small bowl of salsa and a basket of chips, when it was gone we wasn’t asked if we wanted more, nor were we given more.

I don’t know if this is the case with most restaurants since Covid but I was extremely surprised at the downfall of a restaurant that was so consistent in the past.

This latest experience would’ve tied fast food from Taco Bell. I will eat here again and report back if the quality degradation seems permanent. If so then I’ll...

The service has gone downhill. It used to be one of our favorite places and now we won’t be going back. We called to order and it rang for a long time then they hung up in the middle of our order when we tried calling back it rang and rang with no answer. I went in to order and the guy had a huge attitude with me after I said “I think someone accidentally hung up on us so, you might have part of my order in already” trying to see if they had gotten some of the order in or if I needed to make a whole new one. I was worried they had put it a half order and I didn’t want them to waste time making just part of it or making more than they needed to. He said “no.” And continued to slam his hand on their monitor up front. When we got our food it was missing a taco salad and a side an extra side of chips and salsa.
