Gamestop relies on used games to be sold, then bought by other consumers. Therefore, anything brand new will be pretty expensive, as they don't make much money off new items. If you're constantly reselling used games, especially newer ones, it may be worth the incentives. Gamestop is not nearly as good as local, privately owned boutique type shops, as they do not offer much in the way of older gaming. It's basically the big three show: PS, Xbox, and Nintendo (switch and newer hand held options). Gamestop is very limited in scope. Sometimes I visit hoping to find something worth my time, but if you're in Winchester, Ky, check out Wizards of Game. They are very much boutique, encompass more variety as in collectibles, action figures, need out stuff, consoles from all eras, as well as games from all eras. They have fewer new games than Gamestop, but they make up for in variety and types of items. They also rely on used games to sell, and it will be $2 or $3 more expensive for a brand new games, but it's worth supporting, because they actually offer something special. They hold D&D tourneys a few days out of the week...
Read moreI'm not sure who these other people have had "help" them at this location but I just had a guy hang up on me in the middle of our call, not answer my callback, belittle my choice to get a particular item once I got there in person and then act all ticked off because I was such a "huge inconvenience" to him. I don't remember the guy's name but he was a tall guy with a beard and gauges. I literally drove an hour to pick up an item only their store had in stock just to have him be an a**hole to me. If it weren't for the two ladies that stepped in to help me, I wouldn't have even given this place a two star rating. I'm usually a pretty chill person but that level of poor customer service just boils my blood. No wonder GameStop's...
Read moreThey have a great selection of games and the employees is very educated when it comes to games, assessories and what they think is a better brand and etcetera. My complaint is the store is always backed up and busy with usually 1-2 people on the floor. It's hard to get the best out of your experience there when you need questions answered but nobody to answer them so you can decide what would be better for you to get. I feel like they should put one more person on the schedule. Not to mention.. Between two people.. They barley have time to answer the phone half the time. I've called and gotten no answers.. And I've been in there and watch them not because they're...
