Took my oldest and her, at the time, pending boyfriend. He had the 3 Birria tacos, she had the Birria quesadilla, and I had the Birria loaded nachos. We ordered question and chips as an appetizer. And we all had water as drinks. The queso and chips was a large portion! The chips were fresh and crisp, but the queso was lacking in flavor. It seemed to be just a Mexican cheese blend, there were no peppers, or other things to give it the kick I'm accustom too. My recommendation is to pass on this appetizer. The tacos were awesome according to the PBF, lol. He had been there before, so that should say something that he came back and ordered the same thing again. The came with a consume to dip in, and he added guacamole. My daughter had the quesadilla, and although it looked rather plain, it was loaded with flavor. Had to let it cool down as it was piping hot, but once cooled it just melted in your mouth. I had the nachos! And the were better than they looked!! The fresh pico on top was a deal sealer for me. It made up for the lack luster cheese, probably the same queso. Again the chips were fresh and crisp with just a hint of saltiness. The meat was tender and the consume on the side was a bowl of warm deliciosness. I'm not a sour cream fan so I got it on the side. My daughter quickly called dibs and dunked her quesadilla. My one complaint, and I'm being picky, because they don't charge for water. But for that cost savings, you can taste the chlorine from the tap. I would have gladly paid $1.00 for bottled or filtered water. But you get what you pay for. The atmosphere is rustic, with a pleasent touch of Latin culture sprinkled about. It is a cozy spot, so to say space inside is tight but it lends to the overall charm. Parking is a little odd as we had to park at a neighboring business, but not a bad thing, just odd. Service was excellent!! Orders were correct, served with a friendly smile, and checked on us twice to make sure everything was to our liking. It was well worth the $40 for 3 people to be stuffed. If your going to be near Wichester KY. And looking for a new place to try I highly recommend giving this great establishment your business.

Tacos Luna y Mas in Winchester, Kentucky, is a hidden gem that brings the vibrant flavors of Mexican street food to small-town America. What began as a popular food truck has blossomed into a cozy brick-and-mortar spot at 301 W. Lexington Avenue, offering a relaxed atmosphere that feels both authentic and inviting . The menu is a celebration of traditional Mexican cuisine, featuring tacos, burritos, tortas, and more, all crafted with fresh ingredients and traditional recipes . Diners can choose from a variety of meats, including steak, chicken, marinated pork, and chorizo, each seasoned to perfection . The use of fresh masa in their tortillas adds an authentic touch that elevates each bite. The atmosphere is equally noteworthy. With its colorful decor and lively music, the restaurant transports guests to the bustling streets of Mexico . Whether you’re enjoying a meal indoors or on the outdoor patio, the vibe is laid-back and welcoming. It’s a delightful surprise to find such an oasis of flavor and culture nestled in the heart of Winchester.

Charging for chips & salsa? First time I have seen a Mexican place charge for that. The food portions are a bit small for the prices. The burrito had more tortillas than filling. The food was decent. I wouldn't say it's authentic Mexican food. I have never seen an orange colored tortilla in my life. It's more like white washed Mexican food. This place is pretty small, pretty sure used to be a mechanics shop. Between Queso Times and this place, I'd pick Queso Times. It's more authentic Mexican food. You also get a lot more food for your money. They also have a larger building, making the environment more enjoyable. Here, I felt rushed to eat and leave due to how cramped the restaurant is. It definitely was worth trying. However, I had to rush home due to the massive stomach ache the food gave me. I don't know if I will be back as it wasn't too bad of a place, but I am definitely not in a hurry to go back.
