Bluegrass Heritage Museum — Attraction in Winchester

It is rare to find small town museums that holds my interest AND that of my children. The Bluegrass Heritage Museum has friendly docents who are happy to answer the million questions my kids have.

While there are few hands-on exhibits, the ones they have are enormous fun. We could have spent an hour in the telephone room.

The gift shop is reasonably priced and has relevant items, both informational and fun.

What an amazing experience! On two occasions I’ve had a guided tour with my family. The elderly gentleman that works on Saturdays was our guide both times! What a true honor to have him as our guide. He not only knew all the local history, but he also personally knew the majority of the remarkable people featured in the museum. What a gem this place is! The exhibits are phenomenal. So many collections of so many cool antique items! Our docent made the visit even more special.
