I've heard great things about this restaurant so I wanted to try it for myself. When I came in it was such a horrible experience! The lady took the order of the table that came after me, first. I ordered a Wor wonton soup and manapua. As I was eating my soup I started to choke. I dont know if I was allergic to something because I kept grasping for air and was having a hard time breathing. I finally was able to drink water and told the server that I would like to change my food because I wasn't sure If I was allergic to something. I tried sipping on the soup once more and my throat felt as if it was tightening again. The lady responded with: those two tables ordered wonton soup too and nothing happened to them. I told her that I didnt say it was the food. I said I dont know if im allergic to something in it that I keep choking.
Later I asked what was in the oxtail soup because I wanted to order that instead. She said: No because you will change your food again! You won't like it! I then asked her how would she know I wouldn't like it? Im from the island and we eat oxtail all the time! She said well you look like you won't like it. Alot of people dont! I feel like she didnt want to serve it to me because it was a more expensive dish and she didnt want to waste it if something else happened to me.
Clearing I feel like she was being racist and insensitive. She didnt even ask if I was okay! But for her to say that I wouldn't like the oxtail? How does she know what I like?
People who dont know how to treat customers fairly need to attend a hospitality course or close...
Read moreI can’t believe that this place has any reviews above one star. I started to have doubts while I was waiting to pick up my order and saw the food that was being delivered to the tables. The smell in the restaurant wasn’t even good. Essentially, we threw 90% of this food away because it was inedible. And that wasn’t cheap. The hot and sour soup was nothing but a bowl of corn starch—thickened broth with one piece of tofu in it. Yes, that’s right, one piece of tofu. We ordered pork with green beans, but when I got it home, it was barbecue pork with snow pea pods, carrots, and water chestnuts. You could instantly tell that everything in this dish came from a can, nothing fresh. We also ordered shrimp with tomatoes and peppers, and although my other half ate it, I couldn’t even stand the smell. It was like the Chef Boyardee spaghetti sauce out of a can. We also got a combination appetizer order that had egg rolls, fried wonton, barbecue pork, and fried shrimp. Again, everything came from a package, and everything was so absolutely horribly greasy that it just couldn’t be eaten. All of this food cost more than $40, and we threw it all away. The woman working there told me that they have been there for 32 years. All I can say is, how is that even possible? How can a place that makes such awful, inedible food be in business that long? What am I missing here? Well, I won’t be missing this food and definitely will never go...
Read moreI have been to Wo Fat a few years ago, I only ate there once, but I could not remember if it was because of the distance from my home or if it was the quality of food. So today I decided to go there again. Right away I noticed the place was dead. Just the employees hanging out and eating. They were slow to come take my order, because apparently I was interrupting lunch time. So the nasty attitude continued from there. I still ordered a sweet and sour chicken lunch anyway. Now with out a doubt I remember why I never came back. It is because not only did they give me pork instead of chicken, but the taste of the food is so terrible. The rice was hard and dry. The wonton was buried in the food and it was hard and empty. The sweet and sour pork tasted like something reheated from the dollar tree. Honestly I have had better from the 99 Cents Only store. There are a lot of better choices such as China Joes, Chop Chop Wok, Red Shrimp Chinese and pretty much ALL of China Town! Panda Express is better than Wo Fat and we know Panda isn't even real chinese food. Maybe Wo Fat was worthy of this 4 star rating once apon a time, but not in 2020. I clearly see why I have not been back here and I strongly advise YOU not to come here. Thank you for reading this, I hope it helps save someone the time and money....
