Found this place online for a great rate, and I've had good experience with Motel 6 in the past. On top of that, the pictures made it look very inviting. However, there were multiple problems. When I arrived, I was greeted by ambivalent desk help. She was clearly more interested in her telephone than she was in getting us booked into the room. When I got to the room, I slid the key, and it would not open the door. I had to go back and get another key. This time, it worked. I slid the key, and it would not open the door. I had to go back and get another key. This time, it worked. It was clear from the condition of the door that at some point in the recent past, it had been kicked in. There were repairs, true, but still alarming. And even though it was broad daylight, there were already sketchy characters about, and one of them was publicly arguing with his girlfriend about this and that. I unloaded my gear and went into the room. whoever had kicked in the front door obviously had not stopped there. The victim must have hid in the bathroom as well, because there was a big hole in that door that had been patched. On top of all this, all night long, you could hear arguments and fights coming from other hotel rooms. I was up several times to check and make sure that my vehicle still had all of its contents and windows. In addition, even at three or four in the morning, there were people coming and going, talking in loud voices right outside the window, and behaving suspiciously. The room itself didn't even live up to budget standards, with a floor so dirty you could not go barefoot, and several fixtures obviously broken. Everything was just rundown. Finally, I have stayed in a lot of hotels over many nights, and this is the first time that I left early because I did not feel safe. At the very least, this place needs a security guard, and as I was leaving, a man pulled up and started beating on the door next-door to the room I was in. He was still standing there, beating on the door, when I left 10 minutes later even though the beds are right there, 3 feet from the door. I couldn't help but wonder if he was the one that kicked in the door on my room. This was at 4 o'clock in the morning. On a weeknight. By far and away, a dissatisfactory experience, and frankly, I am surprised that Motel 6 even licenses this establishment. I think they are setting themselves up for a big lawsuit in the future.

A guest found and brought our little dog, "Cheyenne" to the front office of Motel 6 when she got out while we were unpacking the truck. The night auditor took our Chihuahua to the back office, and told the guest she would see Cheyenne got back to her owners. The guest found us, and told us what she had done! When I ran to the office to get Cheyenne the employee said no one had brought a dog in, and the guest was lying. When I told the guest what the employee had said she insisted that she go back up with me to confront the employee. The employee suddenly remembered that she had in fact brought the dog to the office, but Cheyenne wasn't there. After changing her story several times, the employee said that she had given the dog away to a couple, no proof of ownership was asked for, she just gave her away, and has no information about Cheyennes whereabouts. The manager sided pretty much with the employee, who had changed her story back to saying she never had the dog! The manager allowed us to spend 3 days and nights in their parking lot, in our vehicle, in 110 degree heat, hoping to catch a glimpse of Cheyenne, either with another hotel guest, or someone possibly looking for her owner, but the employee allowed her to be stolen , and that's where we are at. A police report has been filed, Motel 6 has video which the police will be looking at, and meanwhile we have been labeled DNR, "do not rent", and are not allowed back on the property of Motel 6, Boulder Hwy, We cannot even go to where she was last seen. Motel 6 corporate was called, a report was made, but we never even received a call back from them. If you have a pet, don't go here, they don't care, have no conscience, they lie, and apparently don't feel any responsibility for giving your beloved pet away. BAD BAD BAD PLACE!

I would have given a higher rating, but whoever the housekeeper was (is) ruined it by NOT doing their job! It was apparently under new management when we arrived. Booked the room in advance online. The motel itself was pretty close to the Vegas Strip and attractions. When we checked into our 1st room, it reeked of cigarettes and God knows what! When I pulled back the covers and saw stains on the beds, I went and asked for the manager immediately. Bruce, the manager gave us a new room and deducted a nights charges so staying 2 nights for the price of one, helped. Also, it had a much better refrigerator and microwave than my original booking (which was odd because a room with 2 queen beds is a room with 2 queen beds, right)? Well, apparently not!! The new room was above the office on the second floor because all first floor rooms had been rented, but that is out of his control. Having had 2 knee surgeries, I always tried to request a room on the first floor- whether I got it or not was another matter. Unfortunately, there were quite a few homeless people in the parking lot and surrounding area. Having my minor granddaughter with me, this made me feel uneasy but again, out of his control. And there were homeless people throughout the area and in Las Vegas, which was disheartening. Since we were basically only needing a place to sleep, it worked out pretty well. The security guard we saw when we came back to our room the first night spoke volumes.

This establishment needs a new owner and if you experience an issue IMMEDIATELY call corporate. If the owner or escalations department does not want to refund reach out to the CEO and department heads via LinkedIn. It took them about a month to refund me in full after I contacted the CEO.

————————-CONS——————— -Owner and GM retaliates if you go to corporate to document.

-No 24 hour security at checkin after confirming over the phone that there will be.

-People loitering in the front of the building who were not guests.

-Guests fighting loudly in the rooms and throughout the hallways.

-No hot water for 3 days after maintenance came out.

-No notifications that the power was out for hours and came back to my food spoiling in the fridge.

-No phone calls to keep me updated after asking for callbacks on updates. I had to call or go to customer service directly.

-Employees telling me the owner doesn’t want to fix issues.

-Only received the option to move rooms UPSTAIRS to a room that did not accommodate me as I initially requested. This option was given to me after 3 days of the water not working and the owner not wanting to call maintenance because I supposedly was the only person on the floor complaining.

-CONFIRMED with me that my water still did not work and said on the day of checkout that if I wanted to continue with my stay (which I initially planned on doing) that I had to move to the front rooms that directly face the hot Vegas sun and are right next to the busy street with loiters.

-After admitting that my water still did not work the entire stay proceeded to charge me.

-Small baby roaches coming out the seals of the bathroom at night.

-The GM only wanted to give me a $150 dollar refund which did not cover 3 days of having no water.

-keycard REPEATEDLY kept deactivating.

-WI-FI that actually works is $7 a DAY.

-Bathroom light kept flickering even after maintenance came to fix.

-Weed Smoke seeped into my room when neighbors were smoking.

-NO do not disturb signs.

-Housekeeping barely walked and just attempted to come into the room.

-Cigarette burns in the blankets and curtains.

-Fire trucks and police sirens drove by A LOT.

-NO shampoo or conditioner.

-Fridge had no freezer.

-Sink was clogged and I had to unclog the massive amounts of hair.

-Tried to park close to my hotel room for safety but there is no assigned parking so my spot kept being taken.

————————PROS:———————— -Room was clean after putting a huge black light to the room.

-Small dog area for dogs to use...

Considering the sketchy area the motel itself is great! The staff there do everything they can to keep it clean and safe and go out of their way for everyone. I've stayed at many motel 6 and this place stands out to me because I think the staff knowing the area is rough is the reason they compensate with excellent customer service. I want to point out one particular woman who works there that in my opinion, makes the whole motel 6 brand look good. Her name is Jen and she works the front desk. I've seen her work miracles with her patience and dedication to even the worst of the rudest people. She never falters. The first time I was there I was in a bad mood because my car overheated on the way and I was upset and tired and my twins (2 years old) were cranky and hungry and just wanted to sleep. She gave crackers to my girls and even though I was a bit short with her, she completely understood and said she's a mom herself and knows exactly what it's like. I instantly liked her and my mood changed for the better because she was all smiles regardless of my initial attitude. I know how corporations work, and I know also for a fact that woman isn't getting paid her worth (I looked up glass door reviews) she deserves every praise, raise and recognition she can possibly get. That being said.. The property is clean, the pool is awesome, the rooms are fabulous (upgraded to no carpet) and it's conveniently located next to the freeway and a casino for restaurants and even a grocery store. I wasn't too impressed with the quality of the cable service but I was really just needing to get rest with my kids and then hit the road. Oh and even though it says free wifi it's not but Jen gave me a code for free to use on my tablet because I couldn't get cartoons on for my girls in the room. I've been back twice since then and she remembers me and my girls and she humbly says it's because we have the same name but anyone walking through the door she addresses by their name because she takes the time to know her guests and make them feel special :) Anyone looking for a cheap room with great service definitely needs to go see Jen!! I hope she sees this and knows how special she is and continues to be such a beautiful hearted person to everyone. Thanks for...
