No bueno. Asked for a table for 10. They sat us at a table with only 9 chairs. We had to find another chair on our own. The table was not clean. Drink orders- first person ordered Sprite so the waiter insisted on bringing a pitcher to the table even though she was the only one to order Sprite. Waiter did not take drink orders from two of the guests. They were out of Modelo and lemonade but waited 30 minutes to let us know. Frozen Margarita was not frozen. We had two waiters with language barriers so the combination of the two made everything confusing. Took 45 minutes to take our order. The first waiter asked if we wanted to split the check, so we agreed to two checks. Had to repeatedly ask for silverware and napkins. When we received our checks, they were mixed up. We had to help them with who was who. They added gratuity to our checks which is understandable for a party of ten. However, it did not say the percentage, so we had to figure it out. They took 20% for the tip. I read a review on here that complained of them knowing they will get 20%, so they know they are getting tipped regardless of their service…I totally agree. One guest cut their finger on the margarita glass that was broken. Food was cold and not good. We heard great things about this place so we gave it a try. We were very...

The restaurant was super crowded and it was a seat yourself kind of place. I had a lemonade and had passion fruit syrup in too and it was great. I thought it was a good sign on what was still to come. My boyfriend ordered a blood orange margarita with salt on the rim. When he finally got it there was no salt but he still said it was pretty good. I had the mixed fajitas and there was plenty of meat and vegetables and the things that fajitas come with. My boyfriend got a steak burrito and after a few bites he said the meat was mushy and tasted weird. When the waitress finally came back to check on us he explained about the meat and she just shrugged her shoulders and took the plate away. We thought she would bring a new one or send the manager over but NOPE....nothing. I had fried ice cream that had about 4 pieces of cornflakes on it and the ice cream was strange and had a strong taste of it being freezer burned or something like that. It was also super hot in there but that could have been from having so many people crammed in to a not big enough space. The restaurant is definitely not wheelchair/walker accessible. There would be no way to move down the aisles and I didn't check the bathrooms. There are so many way better Mexican restaurants around so we will definitely not be...

My wife and I have a problem…we’ve lived in LoFS for 4 years. We’ve never even given this place any thought because we had our favorite Mexican food place. Finally we decided to try a carry out. And OMFG!!!! We have sorely been missing out on this hidden (not so hidden) gem! First order I got the combo burrito (steak and pork) dinner and quite a few different tacos to try the meats. Hands down the Lengua was amazing. The steak tacos are delicious too. I was not a fan of the chicken though. And not that it’s bad I just don’t prefer chicken meat. The combo burrito steak and pork if a great mixture. And it’s friggin HUGE! Rice and beans taste very good too. We had zero complaints and both said this hands down was better than our normal place. take out 2 and 1 week apart. Exact same quality and taste! 3rd time in 3 weeks was today. It’s become a weekly thing. We went inside for dinner though. The atmosphere the servers everything was great!

We have been sleeping in this place. And oh btw we get so much food for what we pay. We decided on game nights or days we don’t want to cook dinner this is the place we are going. We get way more food, better quality and taste too… than any fast food place we could quickly get food.

Hands down this is 1 of our favorite...

Greeted when we walked in and were immediately seated at 5:30pm on a Saturday. Once seated It took about 15mins before we were acknowledged and from then on it went downhill. The service was TERRIBLE just awful. Our drink orders were consistently incorrect & underwhelming we ordered rocks and was given frozen, requested salt on the rim and given dry. The food was just tragic. The salsa was ice cold, fresh salsa is room temperature or should be served warm. We couldn’t find our waitress so requested another waitress to bring warmed up salsa. I ordered several different things (flauta, quesadilla and sope. The steak was such a low grade it did not match the prices. I will admit that I am from houston so I have high standards for Mexican food. This was a 2 out of 10 and it gets a 2 simply bc it was edible. I ordered a quesadilla and was given a taco with cheese thrown inside, the sope was a gummy mess. And the flauta had ground beef inside NOT steak. The check could not come fast enough except we couldn’t find our waitress yet again. What an awful experience.

This restaurant came highly recommended.. ate dinner here with the wife, cousin and his wife. Off the bat walking in you notice the decor of the place while your ears and soul is being filled with body swaying Latin music. It was starting to get packed but was able to be seated fairly quickly. Our waitress was attentive to our needs.. took our order of drinks and our meals. Food and drinks came out in a timely manner.. the passion fruit margarita was dangerously good! OMG the food.. the food was insanely delicious so much flavor. Always looking for the wow factor in restaurants.. El jimador definitely has that WOW factor that took me to flavor town. The wife and I are definitely coming back to try different flavor margaritas and a different dish on their menu.

Being from Chicago and raised in a mexican household, I didn't expect much. The chips and salsa were right on point. Our dinners were absolutely delicious (Slopes Dinner and Tampiquenia) and our the margaritas gave us a run for our money, all $8 worth. This is definitely a hidden gem. We will be frequenting this business more and more. Everything was so perfect and satisfying. Thank you El Jimador!!!
