Gators Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Winfield Township

Heard that the pizza was good here, so stopped in for late lunch / early dinner on a Saturday at 2pm.

Pizza was very good, breadsticks with cheese and marinara were good too. Unfortunately, both the atmosphere and service spoil the experience. Smoking is allowed, but the restaurant, bar, and restrooms are dingy. It all felt like sitting on the edge of an ashtray.

We were literally the only table (again, 2pm), and thin-crust pizza took OVER 45 minutes to arrive. Bartender had 4 ppl sitting at the bar, which probably seats 10. She did not take away salad plates when refilling pitcher. Dinner plates were little 5" plates for side dishes. Finally, between telling the whole bar about her recent DUI, she was constantly on her phone. Sat for several minutes waiting for a box and the check. When i got up to request them, took another 2 min for her to look up from her phone. You're at work, try to work.

Would consider getting takeout, as others have mentioned, but will never go back inside to...

I went to Gator's in order to enjoy a nice dine and brew. Not only did I get that, I also got the free entertainment as I watched men walk out ashamed from massage parlor. Some even came in! They hung their heads low, probably trying to avoid eye contact with someone who might be friendly with the wife.

The food, the Pub Burger is to die for. The fries I got along with it, were perfectly seasoned, and flaky on the outside. The young man who gave me a wink from the kitchen door really knew what he was doing!

The atmosphere was lovely. The location is a perfect place for a bar hopper like me, and got outside of my community, the Lakes of Four Seasons!

Hell, I stuck around long enough the last time I went, and got me their beef sandwich, perfectly Juicy!

I usually wait a day to review a place. But it was so good, I’m doing it the same night. They list as a Crown Point address but is Winfield in my opinion. We kept hearing good things so we thought we’d give it a shot.

First of all people, read reviews. Some of the best food comes from places that allow smoking. I’m not a smoker but I knew where I was going. That being said, not ONE person was smoking during our time here. Probably a rare occasion I’m guessing.

We ordered the pub burger and a roast beef with mozzarella and a side of peppers. Both with fries. We took 2 orders of wings and a pizza to go. I had one hot wing in the car and it was HOT.

Cassandra was our waitress and she did a very good job. All of the food was better than the rumors and beyond our expectations. And we are home cooking FOODIES!!! ...
