Please follow us on Facebook and Instagram at SNDTRAVELS and EATWELLTRAVELOFTEN Nice setting with a good atmosphere downtown Winona that serves coffee, paninis, and sandwiches. I ordered half a turkey sandwich with chicken alfredo and tortellini soup. Unique soup combination but it was very flavorful and full of all the ingredients. The sandwich was good but nothing special. It was fresh and I did enjoy it but they are not able to toast the bread and they heated it with a microwave. I'm not one who likes to see microwaves in restaurant service. It tells me you don't offer anything that you take pride in. Having said that, I did enjoy my food for what it was and if all you want is the most basic of sandwiches this is a good place to come. I just look for something more than I can just throw together at home. Service was fast and friendly and it's a nice place to sit and relax. No loud music, just enough sound to match with the relaxing environment. Recommended if you want...
Read moreI never generally write reviews because I know how tough the industry can be as a former food service worker, but I was a bit disappointed during my visit today. I ordered a ham and cheese pita, which was great and exactly what I expected. I also ordered a hot chocolate that I was really looking forward to and never got it, even after I asked about it 15-20 minutes later. They had accidentally taken my table number when I got my food so I assumed it had gotten lost somewhere, which was fine, so I went up and asked about it. I was told that they would get it situated, so I waited a bit longer by the counter area and eventually sat back down after 5-10 minutes. An hour later and I still didn’t get it. I did end up leaving at this point, all previous visits have been great, but just...
Read moreThis corner cafe has so much potential, but I felt they really missed the mark on a few key things. Their hot hoagies are just okay for the price. I expect a lot from a 10$ half sandwich and felt short-changed. The chili tasted like Hormel brand. (I'm 90% sure it was)
My wife's gluten-free hoagie would have been better if they had used sandwich bread instead of a burger bun. The brand they use O'dough makes an excellent one.
Charging 75 cents for a soda refill is very tacky, especially after I paid 3$ for the first one. The bathrooms were somewhat dirty and in need of remodeling. One upside was the manager's knowledge of allergens in their products.
I hope the proprietors step up their game because this place could be great with a...
