China Dragon — Restaurant in Winston-Salem

I wanted to love this place. So bad. We went in for a dine-in experience. My husband has a few allergies, so he discussed the menu options- can’t have egg or sugar. They repeatedly recommended items that do have both egg and sugar to him. Odd, but okay… No music, no atmosphere… five people picked up to go orders while we awaited our food. At least one of them ordered hers and left with it long before ours was ready. We didn’t have anything tricky. Beef combo. Shrimp with rice & moo goo gai pan. We waited 40 minutes for our three orders, which came out one at a time over a ten minute period and in to go containers, but open; like, they don’t want to invest in dishes. I do not like eating out of cardboard when I go out to eat. Maybe I’m snobby that way, but I was hoping for a nice experience. My husband ended up ordering what looked and tasted like white rice with shrimp and vegetables doused in corn starch and salt. Way too much salt. He ate some of it, but tossed over half and had a terrible stomach ache by the time we got home. My beef was spongy and the veggies tasted canned. My mom said the same about her dish. It’s rare that we all feel negatively about a place, but we sure did this time. What a pity. We would love to have good Chinese food...

We have come to this place for YEARS. Every time we order we know it’s going to take a while. Tonight we ordered at 6:45 the young lady on the phone said 45-50 minutes. My husband gets there at 7:30. The food is still not ready, and he continues to wait. Someone else came up to pay for their food and left. My husband goes to ask how much longer. The young lady then realized she had given the other customer our food. I understand accidents happen, but the gentleman making the food, then tells my husband he needed to wait at the end of the line. Mind you this is now 8:15. Our food was given to another person and we are to wait another 30/40 minutes. I am disappointed they didn’t handle this better...

Was overcharged, be aware that the menu online is not updated, because that’s the only way I could guess why i was charged $40 for 2 combination plates and a side of dumplings. I raised an eyebrow but still paid because it was ready and we were hungry. But no itemized receipt so I have no way of knowing. Food was so so so bland, the veggies were undercooked, crunchy and the meat chewy. The sauces barely had any flavor. Barely any meat is given, the large chopped veggies take up most of the plate. Just overall so disappointing, don’t even bother ordering here, not worth the...
