We've lived close for several years and have always marveled how no restaurant ever seems to be able to survive in that plaza. We want good food close, because once I am "in" - I don't want to go far - even for dinner. We decided to try Stoked. The food was okay. Not bad, but nothing competitive. The service was so very slow. The food was hot, but it took forever to get. It was not that busy. Took a long time to get anything - menus, drinks, apps, food, the check..... The only reason we'd go back is the reasonable prices and the proximity to home, but they have a lot of competition - even with those parameters. *EDITED TO ADD: Encouraged and impressed by the response to my review (see below), I decided NOT to contact the manager, but to give this place another chance. The server made all the difference. Different server this time. She knew the menu (the other did not), she was friendly, helpful and just the right amount of attentive. In the week between my visits, they had removed the pasta dish from the menu. Confused, I inquired with the server who confirmed it has been removed from the menu, but offered (I did not ask) to ask the kitchen if they could make me one. They did. I swear, the improvement in service made the food taste better. The nachos...
Read moreI am not a fan of their other restaurant for many reasons but this one I thought the food was super yummy. We were the 2nd table in ...in the middle of the afternoon. They had two servers, and still received horrific service. NO drink refills offered EVER and couldn't find them as they were always in the kitchen. The pizza was so good and the salad was fresh with fresh ingredients. The cheese curds also very good. I also can't stand the super thin watery dressings they have just like the other restaurant. I don't know if this is a chef thing or a money saver or what! The furniture is not comfortable for a "bar/pub" which I think would be crucial if you actually wanted your customers to stay awhile. The waiter I wrote about now is the manager (okay). And he seemed to struggle to multitask. Once the restaurant filled up, service got even worse. I'm giving four stars anyway because the food was so good. Great wine and beer selection although I would like to see some better wines. I would give them one more try based on they were still new, and the food...
Read moreThe Stoked Woodfired Pub Experience (Pick-Up Edition). On this day, I had a taste for pizza, not just a regular pizza place, though. It's a new year, and I'm on my veggie quest a couple of days out of the week until I become a complete vegetarian. I say that lightly, lol. So I wanted something light but in the form of pizza.
So I called in and placed my order and spoke with a pleasant individual on the telephone. I ordered their local green salad. This salad comes with tomato, cucumber, onion, mozzarella, croutons, and creamy Italian dressing. I also ordered their Mushroom Pie. This pizza comes with woodfired shrooms, caramelized onion, feta, mozzarella, truffle honey, and red sauce.
Once arriving, my food was ready, but the gentleman only gave me half my order. Once I mentioned it, the guy apologized and went into the kitchen to locate the rest of my order. Once I got home, my food was delicious. The pizza was so phenomenal, from the sweetness of the onions to the mushroom flavors. I would give this place a try again. I love an excellent woodfire...
