I wanted to share my experience in hopes that the manager would see.
Last night Kaitlyn took my order. I told her that I wanted a small vanilla. She said "do you mean a dish?" I asked her what that was. She begins to tell me all of the types of servings they have for ice cream there. I told her I wasn't sure what a dish was, but I just wanted a small cup of the vanilla. She says again "do you mean a dish?" I asked her what a dish is. She says "like a dish of ice cream."
At this point, she's mocking me. She keeps saying the word "dish" over and over. Her smirks let me know she thinks this is funny. Between that and her condescending tone, I just want to be done with her.
At this point, I just show her the cup on the counter is a little display of the sizes. I tell her "I want that size in vanilla. With cookie dough." She says "and what do you want on it?"
"Cookie dough." (Like I'd just told her)
This might seem like a small interaction, but in my opinion it's just so easy to be nice to people. Kaitlyn seemed to find pleasure in her attempt to make me feel stupid by not knowing employee terminology. I don't know if Kaitlyn has noticed, but I do not work there.
My son and I eat our dinner and on the way out I go to the counter so that I can ask to talk to the manager about it. Of course, Kaitlyn is up there so she gets the manager. While I'm talking to the manager and telling her the story, Kaitlyn is behind her , laughing with her friends. She is clearly eavesdropping on the conversation, as when I tell her how Kaitlyn was treating me, Kaitlyn starts to become angry. Kaitlyn turns around and begins to yell at me.
I will not lie. I raised my voice back. I told her that I find it comical that she was so rude to me in secret when she thought that no one was listening, but now everyone can know that this is how she acts towards strangers. It's comical how her tone changed once she'd been caught.
She began to go on a long rant, storming through the store cussing, and as I was leaving, I could hear her screaming from the back, as did several other customers, whose complaints on Kaitlyn I'm sure you'll hear soon.
Clearly, she is not fit to work in a public space as number one, she treats customers as if they are stupid. And secondly, when confronted with the things she does wrong, she does not apologize, but she goes on an angry temper tantrum throughout the store, screaming profanities.
My experience with Culver's until this point has been 100% wonderful. My son and I used to eat there about every weekend. Everyone is wonderful, the food is fantastic and the restaurant is ridiculously clean. And I guess that's why it put such a bad taste in my mouth, such a rude...
Read moreIn the words of Joan Rivers: Can we talk?…about Culver’s? Geez Louise, it was our first time here and it was fantastic. Not just the food, they also have excellent customer service. Hubs got the Butter Bacon Double Cheddar Burger with crinkle fries and drink. I built my own as a single with cheddar, SHREDDED lettuce, grilled onions, mayo and mustard. I also ordered a side of onion rings. The onion rings are flour battered so they are smooth and not mean to your mouth like panko breading. They were outstanding! The perfectly cooked onion ring has a clean bite. Meaning, you bite it and the onion doesn’t pull out of the remaining breading. The crinkle fries were crisp on the outside and very soft on the inside. Delicious! The burgers had a great flavor with crispy edges. I will tell you this, the burger was so good, I regretted not getting a double. Live and learn. We also got a vanilla frozen custard in a cup and I got the “mini” frozen concrete of vanilla custard with Oreos. They were both SO good! Full disclosure…after the ice cream, I almost ordered the cheese curds. I didn’t, but I REALLY wanted to. We will definitely be going back. They are building a new location in Kernersville and I can not wait! We drove by the location and so far only the foundation is poured. They need to get busy!
Now, about the customer service: the young man that took our order was very accommodating. He was friendly, polite and funny, for both our meal order and then our custard order. The manager on duty was also head and shoulders above other restaurants. We witnessed him going to a table and apologizing. He said he knew the young man that took their order for a lettuce wrapped burger, but their lettuce was shredded. The customer was very nice and said it was no problem, she just didn’t want the bun. An actual apology from a full service fast food joint. I commend the manager for taking the potential heat. We had a fantastic experience and I encourage you to...
Read moreIt's really nice to be able to get such a good burger!
I've had to give up most breads, but Culver's carries gluten-free buns, and they're REALLY good. I didn't even care much for bread before I had to give it up, but at a point you start to miss it.
They're always very careful to not cross contaminate the trimmings for your burger with other items that might have gluten in them, though once or twice they did put my BFs onion rings in the same bag as my burger's box. It's not an issue for me, but it might be for people that have celiac disease. The buns are pre-wrapped and you have to assemble the burger when you get home or when you get your food inside. They do a lot of extra work that I don't see a lot of companies going the extra mile for, and I really appreciate it.
Quite a few of them have told me we were the first time they had to ring up a gluten-free item, and they always seem to want to take extra precautions if you mention an allergy.
The staff have been very polite every time we come by, and we've been trying to swing by once a week since they opened. I can't imagine how they've maintained their kindness with the lines around the corner, but they do.
My favorite is the Culver's deluxe, though the Mushroom and Swiss is ok. Their custards are sinfully delicious.
I also LOVE their onion rings, but they're not gluten-free, so if you're like me and you're not supposed to have gluten, don't get them... But if you can have gluten I recommend them!
Edit: I'm amending this to say that in the last couple of I've gone they've been extra careful and have even told us they made sure they didn't mix the onion rings into the same box with the gluten free stuff, so I think it's pretty clear they're listening and paying attention to feedback and training people to be careful. I really appreciate the kindness and diligence. A lot of places don't bother with offering Gluten free stuff at all, and that Culver's is putting in the work really...
