Forsyth Seafood Market & Cafe — Restaurant in Winston-Salem

I absolutely LOVE the food at Forsyth Seafood, however the people here are TERRIBLE! I mean everytime I come!

I call to order a Box of fish today...

Person on the phone: Thank you for choosing Forsyth seafood how can I help you?

Me: Yes maam, Can you tell me the different types of fish you have for the boxes?

Person on the phone: We have flounder Whiting and catfish.

Me: Alright what are your Box sizes?

Person on the phone: 5, 7, 10 and up.

Me: Okay let me get a 7 peice.... hello.... hello.... hello.... 😮 (yo....I'm on hold, no one said hold on)

(Still on hold for 4 mins) Phone picks up, then hangs all the way up!!!

I get to the location!! CAUSE I REALLY WANT SOME FISH!! 😂🤣

Lady in the back: Hey how may I help you?

Me: (Politely) yes can I speak to the manager?

(She comes up front), I'm the manager, what's going on?

So I explained everything that just happened (in a polite manner) no seriously, I was in my Preacher Wilds mode at this point.... lol

She says: OK sir I apologize about that what can I get for you! (That's it!!!!)

Me: (I let it go at that point) Yeah let me have a 7 piece Box Catfish and white fish mixed, and a slaw!

She says: Ok I'll give you the slaw for free since all that happened!!!

Me: Ok thank you for that!

Now.....

---------Everything cool RIGHT....... Wrong!!!

After that she (the manager, after all of that) goes to the back and start talking junk about me to the lady that's frying the fish in the back! They talking so loud about me that I can hear every single word they're saying! They called me a liar, they done said I just wanted something free! (She offered the slaw, I was prepared to pay for all my stuff, i ain no broke ninja 🤣)Then the lady that's frying the fish gone say "and if they did put em on hold, he must-of-was being rude!

At that point I had had enough, I said "no Ma'am I wasn't being rude on the phone!" But im being rude now!!!(but I'm still calm tho)

Lady frying the fish: I'm not talking to you I'm talking to my manager (all extra loud)

Me: Yeah but you're talking about me all loud.m so loud I can hear yall!!!

She just keep repeating, I'm talking to my manager, I'm talking to my manager, I'm talking to my manager..... 😒

At that point, I just walked to the window and turned my head...🤯

(The Lord bridled my tongue 😑🤏🙅🏾‍♂️

Manager never even attempted to sorrento either...

I first sampled the Trout chowder at the Cobblestone Farmers Market just before Christmas. It was simply amazing. I vowed to seek out their store and try some of their offerings. Yesterday we placed an internet order. My husband and I ordered the 12 piece fried shrimp dinner to share. It came with hush puppies and coleslaw and we picked fries and a baked potato as our two additional included sides. We also ordered the seafood chowder as a starter. I arrived to pick up my order a little early than the time I requested. I went into the market side and the fresh fish was a beautiful site to behold. Back over to the cafe side I gave my name and explained I was a tad early and would be waiting for my food. The sweet lady at the register offered me a cup to get some complimentary Sweet tea while I waited. It was wonderful btw. My name was called almost to the second of the time I placed for pickup. Driving home the aromas that filled my car were very enticing and made my tummy grumble. Arriving at home the meal did not disappoint. The chowder was filled with seafood, hot and just the right spices. The remaining meal was also still hot and cooked to the perfect doneness. The shrimp were deliciously breaded. I never got to taste the coleslaw as my husband devoured it. He had the fries i the baked potato both great. The hush puppies were light and moist. The Forsyth Seafood Market & Café Experience (Carryout Edition). On this day, I was looking for seafood and convenience. The Forsyth Seafood Market & Café was near, and I knew I needed to arrive early to beat the lunchtime rush. So, upon walking into the café portion, I was slightly confused about their ordering system.

They had tables with card readers and mini-computer notebooks in front of their counter. So, I was unsure if I were to order through the notebook or with a person. After touching the notebook screen and noticing there was no menu, I asked someone behind the counter if she was taking orders and was told yes. So I ordered their two-piece fish plate that comes with a side, hushpuppies, and slaw. It did not take long for my food to come up, and I was walking out of the door in no time.

Once back and ready to eat, my food was ok. However, I did not taste much seasoning on my fish. Would I go back to Forsyth Seafood? I don't know if I would go back. I don't feel like the price of the plate reflects through the taste of their food. The dish itself gave resemblance to something you would get at a fish fry fundraiser through your local church or school. Moreover, there was nothing memorable about the customer...
