Let me start by saying I LOVE THEIR SMOOTHIES. And the other one across town gets 5 stars from me.....This one however?! .....children run this place! First, their rating is 91 and for a smoothie place I kind of find that low. But still I was craving one of their smoothies yesterday and decided to get one during my 25 minute break at work. I get there and there is a small line ... After 5 mins the line is not moving so I look up to find one cashier and in the back are 3 more people just talking to each other with little concern for the line. When the line finally does move the guy in front of me STILL doesn't know what he wants and by this time I am forced to leave so As not to be late to work. I'm upset but I don't think much of it and then decided to go there again after work with my boyfriend. We both get peanut butter shakes with a different protein each and patiently wait for our smoothies. After the guy takes our order he goes back in the back (to what I thought was to make our drinks) NO! HE GOES BACK THERE AND STARTS TALKING TO THE TWO OTHER WORKERS IN THE BACK! NO ONE IS MAKING OUR DRINKS! One girl is moving ice from one bin to another and the rest of the employees are just talking and laughing with each other. One girl then leaves the group to clock out and finally the guy starts to make our drinks. The third girl then comes up and asked if we have been helped. REALLY?! By this time my boyfriend is pissed (he has to be at work that afternoon) finally our drinks are made and the guy comes up and says he accidently put a scoop of chocolate In my boyfriend's drink. (Saying it was no big deal) My bf tries a sip of it and gives it to me... We both agree it was disgusting and not at all what we ordered. (I Am content to keep mine). By this time he is running late for work and asks for a refund on the drink. Instead of taking care of it himself the employee goes to the back to get the girl who Finally gave him a refund on the item. I work and live downtown and love smoothies but unfortunately I will never be visiting this...
Read moreThis place you can never place an order for a food item. Each time I visit this particular location they either close early before there scheduled time and not serving food just smoothies. At least let your customers know before getting in line like posting a sign before going through drive thru just to find out once you get to the menu where they have a ton of signs posted that they're not serving any food items or the business is closed due to short staff. Just to say once you in that line you are stuck ordering smoothies or not. This place has to get better I don't know what happened in the last couple of months here. This was one of my favorite place to eat until now.
Edit: Decided to visit this particular location yesterday since it has been a while around 6:55 pm ordered a greek yogurt bowl. And when I tell you the fruit was soggy like it was placed over heat. I have never had this served this way at any other Tropical Smoothie locations or other places that serve greek yogurt bowls. These bowls are my favorites. Maybe the greek yogurt bowls are not one of their favorites to prep. Is this supposed to be a way to get your customers to stop ordering it. We are paying our money for these food items and it shouldn’t be handled this way. Customer satisfaction should be your top priority. Also young lady at drive thru window does not have customer service skills at all. She rushes through your order; speed talking, when asking about side items she does not give you feed back she just add it to your order and ask anything else…anything else. Keep in mind we are paying for this food. If it wasn’t for your customers you wouldn’t have a job. If you don’t want to work or don’t want to be bothered with people you should stay home. Its just not fair to your customers. At the time I went it was slow there. Maybe it was a long day for you all but it still doesn’t give a valid reason to serve your customers in this way. Read moreI placed an on line order. When I pulled up the drive through was wrapped around the building. An employee happened to be leaving and I asked her what I should do. She told me to call the number and let them know I was here don't go through drive thru since my order was already paid for. I parked and called the number provided on the door no one answered the phone. My first call was at 2:56pm it was 3:15pm still trying to call with no one answer when another customer walked up to the door and attempted to walk in. It seems there were 3 of who all placed orders and couldn't get anyone on the phone. I got out my car knocked on the door til someone finally answered explained that the 3 each placed separate orders no one is answering the phone and the guy had been waiting close to 30 mins for a SHAKE!!! The employee got our information got us our orders my drinks were not there usual texture you they had been sitting for a while because of the amount of smoothie that had melted. The chicken quesadillas were cold. I wasn't about to ask for them to remake this because already had wasted enough of my time. I pulled out of there at 3:45. That is beyond ridiculous don't advertise curb service if you are unable 1) answer your phone 2) have look out for customers waiting ih the designated area that is why they ask for make and model of our vehicles 3) if you can't provide you service in a timely fashion. The only reason this Tropical Smoothie Cafe received 2 stars was because even though the service was deplorable the food that was supposed to be hot was cold and the smoothies that were supposed to be ice cold were some what melted they still tasted good.
