The food here tastes better than most fast food restaurants. The service is consistently horrendous and that's a compliment. Customers are viewed as an annoyance. From the inhuman greeting we receive at the speaker, to the hand that sticks out the window warning you not to drive up, to the rude employees that are not interested in pleasant guest experiences.
Normally this restaurant does not cook your burger to death like most fast food restaurants. Usually this results in a much more tender and juicy experience. Unfortunately, that was not my experience today. My burger today was positively crunchy... That's not right. This restaurant also has not had their fried mushrooms, which are delicious, in about 2 weeks.
To minimize errors and to save a dollar or two I use the Checkers app on my phone. I informed the artificial intelligence bot managing their speaker that I had a mobile order and I was directed to pull up.
Before I continue, let me add that there was no one in the Drive-Thru when I arrived and there was no one in the Drive-Thru when I left. I was their only customer during my visit.
The first interaction I had with the person in the window was that I had to repeat what I just said at the speaker. The employee's first reaction was that I did something wrong. She told me I had to go to the opposite window for Uber orders. First of all, if she made any attempt to look at my order she would have seen that it was made through their app, not Uber. Secondly, I was their ONLY customer. Did it really matter which side of the tiny building I was on?
After resolving that little confusion she closed the window and returned a few moments later letting me know that my order was not ready yet and promptly shut the window again.
Again she returned and handed me a bag and my drink. Checkers bags are tiny. They're so small that employees have to stack items on top of each other. Having such a high center of gravity, if you're not careful, they will fall over and spill out in your car. That was not the case today, in fact, my bag was quite light since it only contained one of the three items I ordered.
Of course, the window was closed before I discovered this. She only opened it again to ask me why I was not driving away. She was apparently very busy handling the line of invisible customers behind me. When I told her that I was missing an item she assumed immediately that I was the one in error until I showed her the ticket on the bag (we'll get to that ticket in a minute). After a short delay, she handed me my missing items and I was on my way home.
About that ticket on the bag... It was attached by a sticker telling customers to go to their guest satisfaction site to tell Checkers how they're doing. On the site it asked for a 20 character survey number, which was not on the ticket, or the four-digit store number which is not on the ticket, the app, or anywhere else I looked online. Further, the app does not have a function where you can view your receipts and that ticket apparently is not a receipt. Due to this lack of information, I was unable to go to their website, submit my observations and receive the "exclusive offer" advertised on their sticker.
Those who go to this restaurant are going for the food. In my humble opinion, they normally have the best tasting burgers, sides, and desserts served by the worst...
Read moreI ordered 5 checker burgers & 5 shakes. They repeated my entire ordered back to me. It took them 15 minutes to get the car in front of me out of the drive thru. When I got to the window they only gave me 2 burgers and NO receipt told me to pull around to the next window for my shakes. I got to the window and told them they didn’t give me my entire order and they requested my receipt as if I was lying and I told them they didn’t give it to me. They pulled up my order and they only rang in 4 out of the 5 burgers I requested and paid for. They added the 5th one to my order. They gave me my shakes, which they got all the flavors wrong. They brought the manager over to the window making a big deal about my other 3 burgers they owed me she just looked at me and walked away. Didn’t do anything. The girl that messed up my order was yelling talking badly about us as if it was our fault she screwed up our order. They then sent someone else to the window to help us and she refused to give us the rest of our order saying they already had given them to us, They only gave us 2 burgers and I paid for 5. They made a big deal about it although I literally just handed them my card to pay for my food they didn’t want to give me the rest of it. They wanted our bag back and finally remade our food. I felt that I had to watch them from the window to make sure they weren’t messing with our food because their attitudes were nasty! A 10 minutes trip down the street turned into 45 minutes. Customer service is horrible! They are rude and nasty even the manager was terrible. Staff needs to be replaced or they just need to be shut down!!! If nothing is fixed I’m sure this place won’t be around much longer. Wish 0 stars was an option LOL me and my family were amazed at the stupidity. Read moreMy wife and I are usually quite regulars. We have had a couple issues but tonight really killed it for us. After ordering the same sandwich we have gotten 3 out of the last 7 nights, we were told tonight that we couldnt, that their "system" wouldn't allow it. Then this Dave Chappelle looking guy, normally the cook, literally starts arguing with us about he "knows for a fact we couldn't order the particular sandwich with the deal we were trying to use, because he tried it Saturday and it didn't work for him" (We have receipts showing we ordered the same thing Saturday night as we were trying to order tonight, that it did work for us) Instead of checking our receipts, he proceeds to argue that it had to have been someone that did something they shouldn't have. While my wife was looking over the menu, and I was talking to her, he then proceeds to hurry us along, asking what else we wanted, and then threatens to call the police because a car pulled up in line behind us, AT A 2 LANE DRIVE THROUGH!!! Having been in the drive through no longer than 3 minutes or so, we found this EXTREMELY inappropriate and by no means justified, we left without ordering, and NOT be cing back until he leaves the location. I've had issues with him not getting our orders correct on multiple occasions, and haven't complained, but this was a little much. I will not be coming back to this location, if he is working there in the future. His willingness to blatantly argue with us, then threaten us because we were apparently in line to long (It is a drive through but 3 to 4 minutes is too long for this guy), is unexcusable.
