Just post-Christmas saw the opening of Mirchi Indian Street Food in Winter Garden. From the same folks behind Cilantro Indian Restaurant, Mirchi brings a bold, yet a vast variety of classic Indian street food under one roof offering a relaxed and fun spot for either lunch or dinner.

Walking into Mirchi feels like you’ve been transported straight to the vibrant streets of India. The décor is playful and colorful, with Bollywood movie posters, vintage newspaper clippings, and quirky nods to Indian street life covering the walls and tables. It’s the kind of place that’s just as fun to look at as it is to eat at—even if it was a little quiet when my family and I stopped by.

The menu is where Mirchi really shines. It’s packed with vegetarian and vegan street food favorites from all over India. These aren’t the usual dishes you see at every Indian restaurant—each plate feels like it’s been plucked straight from a bustling market or a roadside dhaba (casual eatery). Everything is flavorful. Be sure to ask to customize the spice levels, but if you’re up for it, I highly recommend going for at least medium—it’s called Mirchi (meaning “red chili pepper”) for a reason!

The food comes out tapas-style, with small plates perfect for sharing, so you can try a little bit of everything. Portions are generous, prices are wallet-friendly, and the flavors? Absolutely spot on. This isn’t fancy fine dining—it’s classic Indian vegetarian or vegan street food done right: fresh, satisfying, and packed with personality.

The staff are super friendly and happy to help you navigate the menu, whether you’re a street food pro or totally new to it.

We ordered a lot of variety. Do check it out—and hope you'll enjoy it as much as my...

An absolute delight. We’re fans of common Americanized Indian food to begin with. Kormas, dals, and naan, oh my. But nearly everything on the menu here is something new to us and that’s exciting. So first off, the place. Decorated with flair and fun to be in. Clean, easy access. The service was exemplary. Kind, informative, helpful and pointed us to some great dishes. Willing to discuss the food with us and give us insights. Beyond that, as it was just my wife and I wanting to try as many things as possible, they made us a sampler plate, demonstrating kindness and interest in helping us have a great experience. The food. Everything on the menu sparked an interest and we could only try a few things on our first visit. Unique dishes like a crispy ball with savory/sweet/creamy filling of chutney, yogurt and potato. Another was a crispy shell with fillings that you pour a shotglass of flavored liquid into. The explosion of flavors is a unique experience. In short, everything was a delight and if you have any interest at all in trying new things and having new food experiences, you really need to come try this place. I expect we’ll have to come back 10 times just to try every dish that caught our eye. We’ll have to invite more people to come with us us so we can share and get a taste of everyone’s dishes! On top of that the manager/owner? Says they are expanding the menu! Overall it’s just a great place, with reasonable prices and good food. Are you a foodie? If so, you need to go here immediately. Not a foodie and just want tasty food? Same answer, give this place a try.

To the staff, thank you for making this a great afternoon filled with great food, friendly people and new...

Our group of friends decided to try Mirchi Indian Street Food in Orlando for Sunday lunch after seeing their street food options online.

When we entered, we loved the nostalgic decor, filled with 90s memories, which created a fun and welcoming atmosphere. We explored the menu and ordered a variety of dishes, including the All-Indian Thali (with Chinese Bhel, Veg Hakka Noodles, and Dry Gobi Manchurian), Mix Bhajiya, Masala Chai with Bun Maska, Paani Puri, Dahi Batata Puri, Chole Bhature, Pav Bhaji, Masala Chaas, Chilli Chicken, Bombay Bhel Puri, and for dessert, Rabdi Jalebi and Gulab Jamun.

The service was prompt, and dishes arrived steadily, allowing us to enjoy everything fresh. We enjoyed the Hakka Noodles in the Thali and the Dahi Batata Puri, which was flavorful and well-prepared. The Chole Bhature was satisfying, though the chole could have used more depth in flavor. While the Rabdi Jalebi was tasty, it was overly sweet, and the jalebi could have been crispier.

Overall, we had a great experience at Mirchi, with good service and a variety of refreshing Indian street food options. It's a fun spot if you're looking to enjoy a taste of Indian street...

Tried Mirchi recently and left with mixed feelings. The food overall was super greasy and oily, and it felt like many dishes were missing the key masalas that bring Indian flavors to life. The Pav Bhaji was especially disappointing—it tasted like plain tomato gravy with no depth of flavor, and the buns were undercooked. The Pani Puri was another miss; it was basically just jal jeera water without the tangy, spicy punch you expect. On the brighter side, I liked the interior—it’s a small but tidy place, giving off a cozy vibe. Their Indo-Chinese dishes were the highlight of my visit and I would recommend trying those. The dosa was okay, though not crispy like at other places and much smaller in size—definitely not enough to fill you up on its own. Overall, a place I might revisit for Indo-Chinese, but not my go-to for authentic Indian street food flavors.
