I was not particularly impressed by Country House Restaurant and I hate giving local places less than 5 stars. Maybe it was just an off day. There seemed to be a lot of regulars which should indicate that it’s good. Maybe it was just an off day for us. My son and I stopped by on Tuesday morning. The restaurant was pretty crowded for a Tuesday morning. We were asked to seat ourselves. No problem at all. However, with a few waitresses working it seemed difficult for them to tell which guests were just sitting down vs those who have been greeted. I ordered a bacon omelette and my son ordered a cheeseburger. The bacon tasted like the grill hasn’t been cleaned. So it tasted bad. The eggs and cheese for the omelette had no taste. I had to add lots of salt and pepper for any taste. The hash browns were crispy but also had a funky taste. The biscuit felt dense. I didn’t finish my meal. My son said his cheeseburger had no taste, to the point he was dipping it into honey mustard dressing. The service was okay. Nothing spectacular and nothing horrible. The atmosphere feels like you’re walking into your friend’s kitchen in the late 90s. Personally I loved it. The cleanliness wasn’t that great. The table we picked needed to be cleaned off, there was napkins and food on the floor at other empty tables, handprints all over the window. But it did seem busy so that is not going to be a priority.
Unfortunately I don’t think we will be back anytime soon.
*please note that they DO NOT take American Express
I am not sure how to respond to the owner directly but no I didn’t due to the lack of attentiveness and I think that’s due to how busy it seemed and not a lot of employees. It looked like 3 FOH employees for a restaurant with maybe 5 open tables. I had to ask for a refill on my drink, I had to ask to order. I personally didn’t feel like waiting for a remake of our order. When we walked outside my son (14) said that he was “so ready to be out of there” and “glad thats over.”

Read moreMy first time here so I dont know the menu at all and wasnt sure what I wanted. I came in to order 2 meals to go. The server Leeanne seemed rude and annoyed by me when I changed my order really quickly. Her face said I'm stressed and your frustrating me, she angrily crumpled up the previous order. Mind you this took a whole minute extra of her time. I felt rushed. When I got the bill I was making sure it was correct because of the change, the host asked her for an explanation and she said "explanation for what" again with the frustrated annoyed look on her face. I did notice she was pleasant to regulars who have obviously been there before and knew her name. All in all I felt like as a newby I had to earn my way in to their club of friendliness. Probably wont return after this first experience. I served tables for 13 years until I became a real estate agent. I can only assume if wasnt dressed in my moving clothes I may have been treated better. But with my tattoos out and tank top on maybe I didnt look deserving of a pleasant experience. Serving can be tough but you never put that stress on the customer or make them feel like they are being rushed, unappreciated, or annoying you. Especially for simple things like changing their order before the server ever left you, upon the first time reading the menu. The food came out super quick, and tasty. I was happy with the food for sure. I would however suggest Leanne fix her face and treat everyone the same. Not just regulars. I did still however leave a 14% tip on a to go order since I was a server...
Read moreWalked in to patronize a local business in my area. No one approached me or said hello. I sat at the bar for the better part of 10 minutes without anyone addressing me or asking if I wanted anything., now bare in mind that there were 3 to 4 waitress at any one time picking up food from the kitchen window. No one asked me if I wanted to order any food. After 10 minutes a tall man asked me if anyone had helped me. I said no. He offered me coffee, nothing else, no serving set, no water and no menu. I waited another 10 minutes and still no one addressed me. A few minutes later, a waitress said, I’ll be right with you. Another 10 minutes went by, finally she look at me so I said, I’m ready to order. With a slight attitude she said….I have other tables! I didn’t respond, I simply ordered. She never brought me any water., never offered any more coffee and never brought any fork, knife or napkins.
This was the worst service I have experienced in a local place. Sad that this is what we get when we try to patronize local businesses! Shame on them because there are other small businesses that deserve our money,...
