5 stars because this is by FAR the best wonton soup I have ever had anywhere.
also BEST cheese wontons (crab Rangoon which they know as cheese wontons). seriously worth tagging on as an appetizer
And, if I were a waitress here, I'd be reccomending the SESAME BEEF* to everyone! I have tried some other entrees on the menu, and they are ok but, this sesame beef!! must try at least 1x. many other meals here come with 30% meat and rest is veggies, this sesame need beef is ALL beef no veggies, so you don't feel ripped off at all. just trust me, even if you have another item on the menu you think is your favorite, MUST get this sesame beef at least 1x you'll be blown away i promise!
SESEME beef for lunch or dinner, get it you won't regret it!
Also, Chow Fun (wide noodles) is good, but if you haven't had pan fried noodles.... Oooh man you're in for a treat. I get combination pan fried noodles. They pan fry these fat lo mein style noodles so they are crispy, and pour the combination meats and veggies with their thick yummy brown sauce on top, which sops up the juices in the middle of the crispy noodles, perfect combination to be crunchy and soft noodley so much flavor and textures. I just ask them to leave out the celery and water chestnuts as I'm not a fan of either. So good though!!! * must try pan fried noodles!
best wonton soup anywhere in the USA, I have been all around, it's not just mushy wontons floating in broth, they add many other things like chicken, cabbage, mushrooms, carrots and onions. I love to add the hot oil to it. yum! years and years ago they used to also have bbq pork and straw mushrooms which made it even better but, it's still pretty awesome now. my siblings and I used to call this "Brain soup" because the wontons looked like brains to us lol. no...
ย ย ย Read moreLittle hole in the wall. Mom and pop place. Shrimp chow fun is great - not a lot of shrimp but still good (see pic). Huge portions. The chicken dish was a little disappointing. The chicken, like at most Chinese restaurants, had a some inedible pieces. My rule is to never order chicken from a Chinese restaurant and that's the reason (someone else in my group ordered it).
No menu online nor website. You can get takeout but you either have to go in and order or know already what they have. They pretty much have all the same menu items as most Chinese restaurants and they would probably be able to get you whatever you wanted. Took about 20 minutes for the order to be ready.
We also ordered hot and sour soup. It was pretty good - not the best I've ever had but it was a LOT. There were two of us and I probably wouldn't order it again because of the size and the cost associated with it. Having said that, the prices are decent. In the case of the soup, it's enough to feed...
ย ย ย Read moreOn a road trip and craving Chinese food. We were on the I-505 and came across this place. Glad we stopped in. Our waiter was the owner's son and he was fantastic! We ordered our food and it was made fresh to order. I tried the Orange Chicken, cooked tender and fried with the right amount of sweet to spice! (I did ask for medium spice) Very flavorful and loved the bits of orange peel in the dish. BF ordered Almond Chicken. Lots of flavor and juicy tender chicken. Both came with rice and a bowl of soup. Loved the egg flower soup, one of the best I have had. If we are craving Chinese when we pass by thus area, we will for sure be back. Hidden gem in thus...
