I stopped in here on a Saturday night at around 7pm. I was under the impression that this was a popular place for takeout, but figured why not sit down and enjoy the atmosphere. I ordered the sesame chicken and crab rangoons. When I asked to substitute wonton soup for egg drop or hot and sour soup, I was denied. I asked if I could get it for an upcharge. The waitress said no, it wasn't an option for the meal. Well then, no soup for me. I went to the womens bathroom and struggled to close the janky door, sat down and realized there was no toilet paper in sight. The toilet wouldn't flush, the soap dispenser didn't work... I was amused. While I waited for my food I watched the poor fish they have imprisoned in a tank of green tinted water swimming around in restless circles. Just one large fish with barely anything in his tank to keep him company. What a boring life. When my sesame chicken came I took one look at it and thought it looked unlike any sesame chicken I've ever had. Sure enough, it tasted like it was made with a lot of worcestershire sauce. I hated it. The chicken itself was kind of hard. The rice was good, but how can you mess up white rice... The crab rangoons were sub-par. The sauce for them was served in the same kind of paper cup you put your ketchup in at culvers. I was hoping for a little more class. Never eating here again. I hope the fish escapes and finds his way to a larger...
Read moreI used to work here (10 years ago) and they would drop my pay as a hostess (which was considered a higher pay than delivery or waitressing) down to a driver's pay if I was asked to help deliver food once for the night. My paychecks would be off by less than how much I was supposed to make, and it was apparently "not a big deal" when I talked to the supervisor. In addition, they would change my clock in time because they didn't want to pay me the extra time that I was there (whether that's being slightly early or working a little after my end time). I'm not sure how it is working there anymore, but I hope that it has improved since I left.
I haven't had shaw lee for a while and decided to order for delivery because I was studying and hungry. Nothing on their website stated there needs to be a minimum of $10 for delivery but no biggie, right? It was just $4 extra for the lunch that I ordered... When my food arrives, it is not what I ordered exactly. I ordered lemon chicken with fried rice which comes with crab rangoon. I got white rice instead and no crab rangoons. Still good food but disappointed with the lack of attention...
Read moreNice quick tasty inexpensive lunch. I was seated immediately and the server was attentive, helpful, and knowledgeable. I didn't have the lunch buffet but it had a nice selection for a good price. I was more in the mood for a vegetarian option and chose the Braised Tofu with mixed vegetables in the house brown sauce combination lunch, which was very good. The tofu was just the right texture and combined with the sauce and vegetables were well. I had fried rice with my meal, which was fine, if a little cool and lacking in the expected egg, veg tidbits which was a bit off. Two Crab Rangoon came with as well. I had a nice hot tea. I usually have gotten family meals delivered which have been great but haven't eaten in for lunch in quite a while. I will come back. Another delicious meal. Beef donburi and chicken lo mein Bento box special. Very fairly priced. I also appreciate the...
