Moon Dog Brick Oven - Wise, VA — Restaurant in Wise

Came here on a rainy day for a few beers and some pizza. We were only 2 of maybe 6 people in the place so we ready for a relaxing lunch. We grabbed a table waited for a server but didn't realize you ordered up front. We didn't see a sign saying this but maybe we just missed it. So I went up and ordered a pitcher of beer before we decided what to eat. Waited about 10 minutes before I had to remind them we were waiting on the pitcher that was half poured sitting under the tap. I understand that with a new keg that you have to wait for the foam to die down but it had died down about 5 minutes before I reminded them. She apologized and I shrugged it off...no big deal. The woman working the register offered me a first time visitor pizza special for a $4.99 medium pizza which I was happy to take her up on. The guy came out and dropped out pizza off and didn't say anything. We thought maybe he was bringing plates back but we soon realized that you have to go up front and get those as well. Once again, this is all fine to self serve but I think maybe they should give people a heads up as it can come off the wrong way. I will say that maybe we missed signs placed in the restaurant saying this but I don't recall seeing anything. All in all it wasn't a terrible visit we just didn't see a lot of great customer service or friendliness. The pizza was pretty good. The patio outside looked awesome with multiple flat screen TV's and looks like a cool place to come watch sports. Also, I heard it was the only place in Wise that serves pitchers of beer so...

wise store gets a 5 star the Abington stor gets the 2 stars thay have survived me bad burt food 2times in the last 3 months and burt but passable to eat 3 times i have got sick form there food 2 times not bad sick but sick i whuld tell them the food was to burt and they ack like I just criticized Gordon Ramsays Pizza and get a big attitude i had I did not get to eat today because they forgot my calzone and the bottom oven and over apartment when I told the girl I'd rather have my money back so I could get back to work on time she went and told the manager that I cussed her which I did not and the manager was very unprofessional he apologize at the very end I believe he was mad over the incident because he was overwhelmed because they were really busy today but this is the 4 time they burnt my food and the other three times they were not busy and enough is enough I hope they can weed out these bad eggs because it is a good place to eat I don't want to see it go under because of bad management and...

If you are going to advertise yourself as having brick oven pizza, you should probably have a brick oven. Nope. Nada. Instead of worrying about having wood ceilings and pot lights to cater to the hipster crowd, perhaps concentrate on having good food and service. We waited almost 30 minutes for a veggie pizza that was not cooked in the middle, and we watched servers spin in circles around the restaurant with food that they couldn't find the tables for. Speaking of service, you have to pick up your own utensils and plates like you are at a feeding trough. The pizza had no flavor and the veggies made it watery. I added a star for the pot lights and the wood ceiling. They obviously went out of their way to conceal the pizza...
